Where to stay in Dublin

Hey Guys

First time orger

Going to see the purple one with a few friends in dublin.

Just wondering if any of the irish orgers (wolfy?) can let me know where's good (as in cheap) to stay, and where the stadium and city centre are in relation to dublin airport?

Partyup - got to partyup

Hey would try and get a hotel in the north of the city centre would be the nearest don't know if there is much availabilty out there. The jury's hotel is right beside croke park but when i checked they had seriously hiked up their prices. The city from the airport is easily reached on the aircoach bus afaik there are signs when you leave the airport (i'm usually coming home so not 100% sure if they are there!)

Location maps from the Croke Park website. The airport's about 10 miles north.

im going and ill be looking for hotels in the o,connell street area,,just north of the river..ive stayed there before...not far from temple bar..and some great pubs on the river..the Arlington hotel is a great place.
i have noticed it seems to be expensive in Dublin now...id book early,,the stag and hen season will be in full swing that weekend..one hotel that is well situated is the DAYS hotel..stayed there before..

Dublin can be an expensive place to stay, definitely. I'm not sure there are many bargains to be had in June! On a real budget... well there's always youth hostels smile

If it is your first time in Dublin though... and without wanting to sound snobby, I actually recommend staying on the south side of the city. It's nicer, safer, and you'll have a better time - even if means a bit of a walk (or a taxi ride) to Croker.

As for Dublin airport... there's an airport bus to get you all the way in to the city centre (e.g. O'Connell St on the north side, Leeson St on the south side etc) that's pretty inexpensive. Taxis from the airport to the city centre can be bloody expensive. Croke Park is on the north side of the city centre - a short stroll away. But... you don't want to stay in that area if you can help it.

Hi

Here are a few options

Dublin City Centre is quite small and getting to Croke Park is very simple from any of the hotels/Guest Houses listed below

http://www.thecastlehotel...31093.html - On Stephens Green in the City Centre - Single Room from €100.00 per night

http://www.softguides.com...ublin.html - Near Stephens Green - Single room from €105.00 per Night

http://www.isaacs.ie/isaa...lAod0ljE2Q - Nice Hostel in City Centre, very close to Croke Park. Cheap as Chips.

http://www.paddyspalace.c...hostel.php - Another Hostel, Very Cheap.

http://www.northstarhotel.../index.php - Hotel Very Close to Croke park. Single room €120.00 per Night.

Hope these help.

smile

Me and my partner are staying at the Charleville Lodge, not the most luxurious but it is pretty close to the Park apparently! Is very reasonable in price.
