Are you going to Nighttown? Hi,
Question for those who are going to the Ahoy' on the 2nd: What would you do if Nighttown will be 'just another ONA show'. Meaning... the basic playlist and some adjustments. Would you go (for $100) to see it I'm not sure what to do... seeing the same show for the second time in 8h. (please, do not make this 'one of those' threads, oké? ) Peace, TheKid Life's what u make it, stop whining baby Love comes 2 those who care... Prince - A Place In Heaven

Yeah, I'am going !! If there's one thing the guy cannot do, then it's playing two times the same set. So i am not worried !!
Why you ask ?? Futuristic Fantasy

Hi Fhunkin,
The reason I am asking is because people asked Prince about the 2 late concerts: In another thread jooZt (and others) write: First someone shouted out "Why is Paris so expensive?" At this point This JeePee-dude was on stage (making quite a fool of himself) Prince heard the question from the audience and said: "I better take this one. What was the question?" The guy who asked the question again said: "Why is Paris so expensive, The aftershow?" Prince: What Aftershow? There IS no aftershow." crowd: "The Second show in Paris!" Prince: "Ahhh! the SECOND show!" He didn't seem THAT aware of the fact those tix were $100, let alone of the fact the Zenith tix were sold for (only) $39. He asked how much the Oberhausen tix were and when the crowd said $43, he asked if that were the clubmember tix or the rest... Prince then went on to explain the Bataclan show was added for ppl who didn't have a chance to catch the Zenith show. He asked the crowd how many saw him earlier in the tour and how many would be going to Paris. He said people were NUTS to go see his show multiple times. And that he couldn't imagine ANY artist who he would go see four times. http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=26469 Seems that it is suppossed to be a show for those who couldn't attend the 'regular' shows. Meaning... the ONA show (at least that's what I make of it ). But I think we will know more after the Paris LateShow... I understand !! Well If so, I'am sure it will be diverse enough even if he plays the ONA gig (more or less) twice !!
I think it's the intamacy of the club that realy makes the difference. Indeed, lets see what happens in Paris first !! Futuristic Fantasy

As far as we get the tickets we'll be there (3 members + guests). I'm a little bit worried about the sale next wednesday. I think it will sell out in minutes... I wish I were wrong. I wouldn't have said this about the Paris late concert.
Prince himself said it's a second show, check oberhaussen reports on this, so I suppose it will be based on the ONA. He played the ONA twice at the celebration and many of us just left Paisley Park in the middle of the second show as we felt it was more of what we already had listened to. Though it's true that at the Celebration he got us to be used to expect something different every night. So the context is not the same. I wouldn't be upset if he plays the ONA in that Late Concert because I know there's a high probability he'll do it. I'm looking forward to going there and enjoying both shows. Delo

Hello, I would like for sure to go to Nighttown but if it's 100$ per ticket is too expensive for my "guest". Anyway, I could do an "effort" but my "guest" only could if the price were cheaper... I'm Casper the friendly boo

I think the reason for the same Xenophobia shows was the fact that on that friday and wednesday tickets were sold to non-members (at $80 or $100?), they were treated with an ONA show, originally planned for the Orpheum Theater. So the show that night was intended for the few extra non-members present... ignoring 95% of the audience? If Prince has the same intention with the Paris and Rotterdam aftershows he should know that at the Nighttown show probably ONLY members (with their guests) will be present: capacity of 1100 max, and last 15 oct there were 1200 members (and guests) at the Ahoy: expect the same number on nov 2nd. So all people attending the Nighttown "after"show have just seen the ONA regular Ahoy show that night! Which member couldn't(or didn't) get member tickets for the regular nov 2nd show, and is now pleased with the third show? OK, maybe 1 or 2. Let's see what tonight's Bataclan show will be like ...

You won't?!? Due to the show? (not because of financial issues) Could you explain a bit, please? udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Bataclan was good, but not more special than the soundcheck that I saw (& experienced) in fit state.
I always like to here songs live. It appeared to me that I heared them already (except the ohioplayers, JB). At this point he is just playing the songs from his 'limited' big songbooks in different order and sometimes style. It is also because of the time and $. Come on, you did even doze of in Paris due too being tired. If he would play 1) on sunday morning/midday I would go.or 2) acoustic Ich bin bei der Neue Kraft Bewegung

I understand you think it was good but not special enough? It is also because of the time and $. Come on, you did even doze of in Paris due too being tired.
Yup. That's right. It was becaus of Oberhausen the day before. I'll be recovered for the Rotterda mess, though. If he would play 1) on sunday morning/midday I would go.or 2) acoustic Hmmm. Time of the 2nd show cannot be changed and the setlist.. who knows? udo [This message was edited Wed Oct 30 1:18:45 PST 2002 by udo] Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... I won't say it wasn't special to be there because I didn't want to miss it. But for now it's enough.
I expect that more people won't go. Especially the ones that were complaining about the ripp-off and changing the rules of the $100 thing. If you pay that for a second time then those people shouldn't complain anymore. If you go, have fun. You should see it if you missed the soundchecks and Bataclan.
