Have never posted here before but good Lord i'm tired of the crap coming out of Wolfy.I live in Dublin and have done all my life so to hear Wolfy referring every single time to my city as a "very dangerous place at night" is insulting.Compared to most capital cities Dublin is a paradise and i feel very safe walking the streets whatever time day or night. As 99% of visitors to my great city will tell you we're all very very welcoming. All this nonsense "Ooo it might be cancelled the residents are making a fuss"...Wolfy seriously when do the residents NOT make a fuss? Even for the numerous GAA matches that are held there the residents protest! Concerts are held there year after year and how many concerts get cancelled Wolfy? Or even moved? None..So please quit trying to be Mr Know it All and scaring fans. The gig will go ahead as planned.

hold on a second...im irish just like U ok...i love my country n my capital city.
i recently posted n my original main thread about a female friend of ours who was savagely beaten on o connell st just b4 mindnight n recent times after comming out of the ambassador...she was seeing a gig there n was walking 2 the nearby gresham hotel ...her bag was stolen n was sexually mollested...one of the thugs had a dirty needle as he was probably a s@@mbag druggie.
only 4 others intervening it could have been much worse...the gardai told her they could not catch the culprits as the CCTV cameras were not working that nite!!!
dublin IS a dangerous place at night n anyone that tells folx different r living n cloud cookoo land.
the amount of junkies around dublin city at nite is scary..the gardai move them on but they keep comming back...if anything the gardai r scared n case they get pricked by there needles...as i would b.
its not just dublin but any major city n ireland...i imagine all major cities n europe have similar probs.
as 4 the residents of croke park....they r protesting n objecting n the chances of this gig going ahead now is 50 50 till they get the licence as there is only 3 concerts granted per year 4 croke.
last time MCD went 2 get a licence 4 a 4th concert was 4 U2 n even then they were lucky getting it as there was good feeling from the residents as U2 r from dublin.
i have heard this directly from my contact n MCD promotions so please stop.

Pardon my French but MCD are a bunch of fuckwits!, If i were P i'd never use them again!. what sort of a business would book a venue, sell tickets and only then try and get a licencse!. I trust that this won't be P's fault and he's probably spitting blood right now. As for doing the gig on a frigging Monday night & expecting to sell 80k's worth of tickets in a small country!. Lets hope that this doesn't put P off announcing the other stadium gigs. Is there any further news wolfman?.

Oh yeah, I live in Twickenham and the residents also always make a big deal out of concerts at the rugby stadium. The only one I ever remember being cancelled was Pavarotti.

I live in Dublin city.
Like all city's it has its "bad areas"
Avoid them, and you will have no problems.

Hi K,
Pretty much everywhere is fine during the day.
Good few spots to avoid at night.
Just take cabs about the place and you should be fine.
Common sense is the best protector.

Places to hang out? Hmmmmm I like museums/galleries and such, most have decent restaurant/cafe's attached.

All depends on what your into. I guess Crawdaddy and the Village (venue) are good for gigs. Whelans for indie type bands. I'm not up on the dance music thing, but its thriving these days while I'm tucked up in bed.

If I'm allowed to post links to websites, I will. (They always seem to get deleted)

I like The Lord Edward in Christchurch.
Nice bar upstairs. No music playing. No need to shout into peoples ears to communicate (how can that be a good time?)
Anseo on Camden St is also a good spot. Yes there's a "DJ" on some nights but it's not too abrasive. Some cool singer/songwriter type gig happen from time to time upstairs.
The Long Hall on Wexford St, is another great spot.

The default visit place for tourists is The Temple Bar area, so unless you are part of an english stag night posse, I'd avoid it. (at night, but during the day it can be quite cool, lots of places to eat, but a tad overpriced)

Hi Wolfy

Who told you it would be a split gold circle like West Life?

When I called Ticket Master they told me that the A and B were to aid numbering the tickets for administration purposes. – Looks like I need this in writing from them!
confused

dont mind ticketmaster....what do they know???....lol
they just sell tix n dont care once there sold plus there aftercare is rubbish.
i have a good friend who works with MCD the concert promoter prince uses 4 ireland n thats how i broke this story b4 anyone else n how i was able 2 provide good info so far.
when U get 2 the gig U will all go through the same entrance as on ur ticket n then there will b 2 parts 2 the gold circle....hence A n B...long story really but at the point theatre n dublin a few years back there was a person killed at a concert from folx pushing n the person was squashed 2 death...since then they have 2 take health n safety of the fams with great care n detail.
its still going 2 b a place where i personally would not have much comfort with stupid fams pushing there way 2 the front making folx uncomfortable...i suffer from anxiety n panic attacks n situations like that...was at metalica a few years ago n had 2 b pulled out as i really freaked out being pushed from side 2 side n couldnt keep my balance...really horrendous Xperience n i swore never again.
thats why im going 2 b up on the hogan stand drinkin some guinness n eatin a hot dog r 3.
lol,
hope all this helps...n i still think ur 3 sexy amy,,,xx

as the stage design has nothing 2 do with MCD i cant comment...
the new stage is being built n its prince that is n charge of the design.
once the deisgn is released 2 MCD then they can plan the security arrangments around the stage along with the health n safety folx.
all i know is that U wont b let down on the nite.
i cant say 2 much more n case things change n then folx call me a liar etc...
as always Xpect the unXpected.

Contradicting yourself in the same message now Wolfy! You know nothing about the stage then rabbit on as if you do. Prince is in charge of the design - you don't say!! Expect the unexpected, what like..a..stage?

Wolfy, you seem like a cool dude to me.....people can listen to what you have to say or not....I don't think there's any need for anyone to take what you say to heart...you seem like a decent sort.

I think it's really sad the way this thread has started to look and sound. Let's hope Prince hasn't decided to have a peek to see what we're all saying about the upcoming Dublin concert eh? sad Just my opinion....

Completely agree with u, it's really ugly, I feel really uncomfortable reading this. I always check this thread out to get that "woo, hoo, there's another Prince gig coming up!!!" feeling, but this sucks!
