i think prince is waiting 2 c if the irish gig sells out b4 he announces other venues....so far croke park is only half sold out n ticket sales r V slow indeed.
this could b because of the high cost of the tix n the fact that the irish economy has taken a slide with the cost of living going up n the USA recession is hitting us hard 2 as we r closely linked with amercia n the UK markets. i am confident that the gig will b a success although if the tix were selling 4 less then 100 euros each they would have sold out the stadium on the day itself. lets face facts here..who wants 2 pay through the nose 4 a seat at the back of the stadium....they know now that they will have there hands full trying 2 sell those tix. the nearest blocks closest 2 the stage r not sold out as r the tix 4 the gold section...when the back is sold out they will then sell the best seats on the day of the concert...wait n c...i know what im talkin about..its a clever marketing trick.lol the majority of the UK fan base r holding tough thinking he will announce a gig there at wembley this year. would it not perhaps help if there was some sort of publicity over here in England/ Wales/ Scotland? I haven't seen or heard a dicky bird about this show - I'm coming over from Leeds - sure many other people would if they knew about it - but has anyone mentioned it in the media over this side of the Irish Sea? Not that I've seen/ heard! You can't sell tickets if no-one knows about it! If anybody asks you, I belong to Prince.... | |

they dont advertise UK concerts n ireland so why should it work the other way round. its meant 2 b an irish show....as the UK shows last summer were the only european shows he was doing it forced all europeans 2 travel 2 london....dont worry...he might announce more shows n i cant c the UK not getting a show. prince loves playing ireland n the UK.... so far this show is just being promoted 4 the island of ireland north n south. if prince had a website up n running that would b the best promotional tool. 126 euros for a ticket is crazy. when you consider the 66-126 price, let's assume an average of 100, multiplied by 82000 is 8,200,000 euro or 12.4 million usd dollars as of today's exchange rate. whatever way you look at it, it smacks of greed by both promoter & performer.
equally important is the Monday night slot. I have 5 seperate family members or friends who would love to go but are unwilling to take 2 vacation days (Mon & Tue) to attend. The none die hard fand will not give up 2 days for that. Monday night gigs are a no-no. Fri/Sat/Sun the norm and maybe Thursday. The only exception was U2 few years back. They sold croker on Fri & Sat night and due to massive public demand did a 3rd gig on Monday, it did not sell out ( I got 2 complimentary tickets on the day ) so when you sume it up, if a couple were 2 attend from outside the Dublin / Leinster area it would be 2 days off work and 266 euro inclu fees. i would not be surprised if this was moved to smaller venue (RDS) and a spin put on it that planning permission was not granted, per my post on Fri, it'll be 8 more weeks before planning is granted. I said cool, but I'm leaving my pants on MCD have had 2 apply 4 the 4th licence....im told if its refused the concert will b cancelled...r moved 2 somewhere else....not the RDS as they have a special contract with aiken promotions.... i am getting a free ride at the croke park gig cause im getting added 2 a list 4 a corporate bash...there was no way on earth i was gonna pay over a hundred euro 2 c prince n a stadium n the folx that have got robbed....simple as that... is applying 4 a liscense something tht happens a lot? r the applications always successful? i'm not convinced tht being on a monday night is a problem 4 the concert, but defo the price of the tix. i admit i'm still shocked tht people expected 2 pay same price 4 ALL the seating as much as i lovee the man i don't love im enuff 2 take davin stand at 126 euros!!! i actually got great seats but wouldn't pay the same 4 anything less.... btw, i saw the gig being advertised in uk - i think it was the mail. | |

Fist post one here.. had to wait for the last week before I could post...
Got my tickets for Gold Circle B after a nerve-wrecking 15 minutes wait in the que on ticketmaster.ie. Couldnt be happier. bringing the girlfriend, who isnt the biggest fan and reckons the ticket will be wasted on her  I have the feeling that it will take about 20 seconds for her to be converted tho, once the show starts
I'm surprised the show didnt sell out within minutes although I'm sure it;s the price of the tickets. I can't really afford anything at the minute with rent, etc.. thanks god for credit cards.. (I'll worry about the bill later) Feel Tha Funk Blast | |

Seriously though, without your authority we'd all be either looking the wrong way or attending the wrong concert altogether. Thanks for personally arranging this for us behind the scenes too. Looking forward to seeing you at the show, I hear you are the guy on stage pointing out which one of the performers is actually Prince so us morons will know exactly who to cheer for. ah well (I was at the 28/08/07 aftershow anyway, so nothing could compare) yeah that was a great aftershow...although some were a disapointment like the dr john Xperience..LOL all the aftershow parties he did n ireland were special n a treat....if i find its the same setlist as the 02 i will b slipping out early as i have heard n seen all those songs n moves by the twinz several times... im sure it will b a great main concert but its a personal choice 4 me n that is why i wanna b near the front of the stage n the aftershow. as there is no Xclusive access 4 NPGMC members so far its gonna b every fam 4 themselves,,,, i know a few fams that were at 02 n there not going 2 croker...instead they will b camped out at the other venue....LOL. After the concert we went back to my brothers flat and booked seats for another 2 shows and we where also lucky enough to get tics for one of the aftershow parties which turned out to be just about one of the best nights of my life - Prince on a little stage right in front of us giving it loads - truly amazing!!! So although I'm a NEW Prince Fan I'm one of his biggest!!! Can't wait for June!! | |

I can guarantee that it will take less then 20secs to convert ur girlfriend.
