Why $100?

OK...

I propose:

Why $100?

on a few 100 a4 (landscape) sheets, to be help up at the Paris soundcheck by those who have tixx for the Bataclan gig and would like some explanation for the sudden, erhm, inflation.
This is just a simple, civil question to mr. P.
Maybe he has problems with the IRS? We don't know but maybe he can tell us a bit more.

At http://pindarots.xs4all.n...NA/Why.doc I have put up a sample 'Word' document; please feel free to use it as some type of inspiration.

PS: I don't have access to a printer at this point in time so I'd like a copy as well.

Exactly. I mean I'd love to know how Prince's accountant, who sat down at the table with his half-caf de-caf semi-skinned grandé frappé, after pulling up in his custom-fitted Ferrari 455, actually worked out "$100" was the right figure to charge for an afterCONcert. Like, "Ooooh, no, if we charged $80 for an 80 minute jam, we could never cover our costs... We'd have to file for bankruptcy, because we just simply haven't been getting enough money from the fans on this tour - (Oh, and didn't you like my brilliant idea to charge $50 to guests for the previous aftershows, and describe how all funds went to "Prince's Registered Charity" - hee hee, we never actually said what that was... People probably thought we'd actually GIVE the money away!! Ha Ha!!"

I mean why didn't NPGMC simply say $200 per ticket? We are only the member fans after all. What do WE count?

The NPGMC has turned into an autocratic state. IT decides, IT replies as it wishes, IT doesn't need to talk or communicate to fans, IT is simply IT.

Quite frankly, IT is becoming increasingly **IT.

Sorry NPGMC, but you're bringing this all on yourself. Fams are NOT liking this move. Read and listen.

I'm not pathetic. I bought my tixx.
But I still want to know why the price policy has to be subject to so much change.

There is no change. You don't know who will show up that night. Duet with Bjork? Fight with Bono on stage (laughing)? All night just solo piano? Etc etc. And if there is any change, don't forget: Prince rules u know..

So? Should I hide my true self?
It's so sad that you make it appear that the rest of the world would gladly pay the sudden price increase (which is not so small) without asking questions (like I do) or complaining.
Next, this issue is almost in my back yard so it really has to do something with my situation. Strange I am concerned, hey?
You're generalizing. Generalizing way too much.

Maybe I'm one of the more energetic folks in this field but so what?

no you shouldn't ever hide your true self udo,
show the world just how great the Dutch are at complaining at whining,

maybe they can make a special Olympics for you.
I am sure the Dutch would win

and most people in other countries would pay $100 to go to a Prince concert. Tickets in USA were $125 so I really don't see your point. And I just paid almost US$100 for my ticket so I don't see any problem at all...

Especially when this seems like it will be some SPECIAL type of show... Just quit your damn bitching, its really getting tired. There are already at least 10 threads about the SAME damn thing - you think that is going to accomplish ANYTHING AT ALL ??

But I am glad about one thing and thats that the Dutchies on this site have shown their true side... Now I know what's what and who's who.

thanks dutchies

PS and I dont think I am generalizing - it is a FACT that 90% of the people complaining about this are DUTCH - can you deny that ? If it was SOOO outrageous as you all claim, wouldn't EVERYONE be so angry about it ? No just the dutchies,

do you damn dutchies complain every day .

THAT DAMN BLOODY SUN DOESNT COME OUT FROM HIDING BEHIND THE CLOUDS - YOU KNOW ITS ONLY STAYING THERE TO PISS YOU OFF DONT YOU !!!!! DOESNT THE SUN KNOW THE RULES !!!! DAMN YOU KNOW IF THAT SUN DOES THAT AGAIN I AM NEVER GONNA LOOK AT THE SUN AGAIN ! THAT WILL TEACH HIM A LESSON WON'T IT !!! OH YEAH MISTER SUN !!!!

Why don't you just buy a ticket for $ 100 if you think it worth it, and try to enjoy it, or don't by a ticket for $ 100 if you think it is not worth it?

Why not wait until after the Paris-gig with your protests, when you will know whether there is something to protest about?

Why risk ruining it for yourselves by protesting or nagging about it during the soundcheck or concert (we all know how moody the little guy can be!)?

My guess is that these 2 late night gigs will turn out to be the single most unique experience in your entire life as a Prince-fan!

U R sooo right: the dutch people on the org. R a real representation of all the dutch memberz.
:sarcasm OFF:

90% of the Dutch orgers R complaining is a fact?! Ofcourse they R in the majority, cause the show takes place where?? Yeah that´s right... in HOLLAND! Do U C them complaining about the late nite show in France?! oh Y not? yeah, cuz it takes place in France!

please, stop embarassing urself & moreover stop ur silly generalization bitch-slap blackeye cause that´s really NOT significant!

You're judging too fast. You're forgetting certain things.
You're generalizing.

It's not about willingness to pay. I already did.
It's about the difference in price.
Compare the Copenhagen and Paris aftershows.

Tickets in USA were $125 so I really don't see your point.

It's the USA so I don't see your point.
You can't apply to Europe what you're used to.
You've had Ticketbastard for some time.

And I just paid almost US$100 for my ticket so I don't see any problem at all...

Sigh. It's not about paying. It's about the difference in pricing.

?
When some people speak up it's 'the Dutchies'.
You really don't get it.
You don't get it at all.
You're confusing stuff, not focussing on the sole issue of differences.
Saying 'it's special', etc and using that as a reason for not paying attention to the issue.

Well, since you bought tix for that show, maybe it's time to stop complaining. If you really wanted to protest against it, you shouldn't have bought the tix. By holding up a sign at some soundcheck, Prince will be either making fun of you, or don't care at all. Maybe you'll ruin the soundcheck for the others.

It's just a simple, polite question. If he gets upset about that I don't know what to think. I mean, he IS aware of what he's charging the fans, isn't he?
But don't be afraid, I don't have a printer here.

And how would the people in America react if instead of an aftershow he's billing it as a normal show and triples the prices. So $125 for the concert and about $350 for another 'normal' show? You think they would gladly accept it?

But I am glad about one thing and thats that the Dutchies on this site have shown their true side... Now I know what's what and who's who.

It is glaringly obvious that you simply don't understand English. That is the reason for all this confusion.

Point blank you Europeans have been lucky for the most part on ticket pricing, some countries more than others, there has only been 2 countries that have paid the average American fee's, so pony up your $100 or don't go, nobody is twisting your arm to make you pay the ticket prices. Do as I did and I'm sure many others did, sit on your wallet if you feel the price is too high. I personally felt $125 per ticket was too high when the tour came to Atlanta, so I skipped it. I had paid almost $100 with fees the year before during the Hit N Run tour, and thought it was too high then, but I hadn't seen him in almost 10 years, so I paid it, $100 was my cut off point. And I stuck to it.

Bill,

You can't comapre $100 between different countries purely due to the standard of living/income/cost. Americans make different money but also have different costs. Just because it uses the $ sign doesn't say that it is exactly the same.

If you don't understand it then think of Africa (where P doesn't come although his bond) where the people have nearly no money at all. $10 would be much there.

And that's all besides the point because of the fact that policies changed overnight and there are differences rangeing between $39 to $125 (so even Prince seems to take in account the different countries).

You still cannot see two issues apart.

One is that he changes the rules for his own benefit.
Second is that he plays am aftershow that is worthwhile.

(I won't delve in the discussion of whether or not the aftershow was worth $100 nor what was his real reason for changing the rules: pure greed or something more sensible?)

It's just a fact that things have happened, taken their turn, have had their way. Just let it sink and ask a few wise questions later on.

Changing policies for the worse overnight is always wrong.
Even for increases in your rent, etc you get informed some reasonable time in advance. And those are reasonable increases with some explanation most of the time.
Now compare that to the `$100 for an aftershow` situation.
