It's the same layout as Westlife. Jaysus!

I'm going gold circle. For those not au fait with Croker, the pitch is much bigger than in a standard soccer or rugby stadium.
It's designed for our GAA sports with a bigger playing area. So the seats may be further from the stage than you might expect.

Here are 2 pics: the first is for GAA, the second for rugby - notice the huge borders in the second.
Watching soccer there is like being in an olympic stadium - not good imho.

Glad I'm not going now. I'd hate it there. I do love to see Prince live. But not THAT much.

anyone on the left hand side of the pitch will be in no mans land. i saw u2 there and was right at the back in davin stand lower tier. not that good. will have two big screens either side of stage, but won't be much use until it gets dark.

OMG it's MASSIVE eek Help, don't know what to do now. When you say left hand side of the pitch do you mean left-hand facing out from the stage?

it is a massive stadium. good facilities. i think from seats 707 back to davin stand would be 'no mans land'

I'd doubt if the seats will be allocated at the point of ticket sale so my uneducated advice would be to get there early and stake your seat (especially as you'll have a young child with you).

Thanks! I'm thinking lower tiers 303/304 or 333/334 would be good? confused

they would have to allocate seat numbers on wed. otherwise it would be absolute chaos.

Most stadium gigs do not have allocated seating - certainly none I've been to anyway. Well we'll soon find out when the tix go on sale on Wednesday!

Hey, looking forward to June 16. Does anyone here think that Prince won't sell out Croke Park? With the pitch being used for standing, how many people should fit in to the grounds, 85-90,000? I've never seen a concert at Croke Park, what would the best tickets be, I'm probably going to try and get a standing one close to the stage at 108 euros but here's hoping they're still available on the day.

I just wonder how many VIP area's are going to be positioned in front of these gold circle area's after the ticket go on sale, like we had the bar stools next to the stage at the O2 lol your a brave man going for Gold cirle again Irish after all the hastle with VIP, at least if this is standing you can fight your way to the front and your not allocated a crap block/seat ....

I'm gonna wait and see what happens, after all the hastle of the VIP stuff last year, I got a bitter taste in my mouth over a Prince gig, and I've never seen a great stadium gig from Prince, his shows are too intricate, not like he just stands there with a guitar, you tend to lose the show at a stadium and normally the sound is vrap, but never been to Croke Park.

A couple of reasons - I don't really like stadium gigs, it's on a Monday night so can't get away (my daughter is only 5 and it's during school time). And yes, I did go to quite a few 02 gigs - been a fan since 1986! First concert was Lovesexy in 1988!

Aaahh I see. You never know, he may add a couple more. I'm hoping for cardiff but not holding my breath! Not keen on stadiums either but have to go. Saw him at wembley in 1993 and loved it. Can't see it being as good as the o2 but think you're torturing yourself reading these threads when you're not going!

Funnily enough I'm not! Maybe when it gets nearer the time and everybody starts talking properly about going then I might be kicking myself but I'll get over it! I'd be more interested in going to Paris to be honest and if it's over a weekend then I'll probably go to that one.

Yeah, fancying paris myself. Hoping to be able to make both. Fingers crossed for paris at a weekend then.

Even with pretty good seat like these, the view looks poor...Worst still, Prince doesn't always fork out on big screens.

Even the back of the gold circle looks far way if the stage doesn't have walkways.

Although the perspective of these pictures can sometimes distort the "real" view I must admit it looks like Prince was right when he sang about gold not always glittering. I have only ever seen Prince in arenas or small clubs so I am still looking forward to it but it's lower tier for me and a quick escape for the aftershow(which I am praying for.)

Thanks for posting that pic. Convinced me i shouldn't go. After the great experiences at O2 and Indigo, always very near the stage (even upper tier), this doesn't look good, too big.

why oh why couldnt he just do a central stage????? Like you said, even a "decent" seat like above the view is crap. I think we have all been spoiled by O2 havent we? I so so so wanna go but looking at the pics of the stadium, I am goin to give it serious thought.
