Prince should follow Rickie Lee Jones' Lead regarding SETLISTS: im not a major fan of Rickie Lee Jones, but my partner is.
He is really excited because she is apparently having a 4 night stand and each night will focus on a differnt segment of her career. Can you imagine if Prince did this? a few nights in each city in a smaller venue focusing on each stage of his career. Imagine if he brought the bands back from each phase too! (that prob wont happen).... We all complain because we want so much from him. This way we can get the hits and the deep cuts too..... and NO MEDLEYS!!! For his next tour, id love to see: Night 1: 'Soft and Wet' thru '1999' Night 2: ' Purple Rain' thru 'ATWIAD' Night 3: ' Parade' thru 'Lovesexy' Night 4: anything from the 1990's Night 5: Musicology and beyond I would love this, Im ready for him to mix it up a little bit and take a new approach: lose the jazz and the emphasis on horns, lose Shelby and all the covers, BRING SHEILA E back! thanks

i love when bands do stuff like this.
the cure and bowie have both played entire albums in concert, all the way through, in the original track listing order. the decemberists did a "long and short" tour this year where they did a show of only their shorter songs followed by a show of only their super long 10-minute-plus songs. some people might think it's gimmicky, but i think it shows a great sense of fun and the fans totally geek out over this kind of thing.

For example the Lou Reed Berlin concerts or the Dark side of the moon concerts....people always compare these gigs with former gigs of that era. Most of the time it is disapointing.....But who knows what the result would be if Prince actually would do this.

I thought he might do it with the o2 gigs
the one night he opened with 'let's go crazy', then went into 'take me with you' i started to think 'fuck, he's going to play the whole album'...but then he did 1999 i was gutted that i missed the around the world in a day aftershow ----- the mission and the wedding present are doing this kind of thing this year too basically doing a stint of shows, and doing an album a night in it's entirety i think it's a cool thing to do, especially when the albums are 15-20 years old + because most people in the audience won't have had the opportunity to see it first time round
