NPGMC-Only Shows In November?

I've heard that Prince is meant to be playing a couple of NPGMC-only shows in both London and Rotterdam or Amsterdam in early November, before he heads for Japan. Has anyone heard a similar rumour/know more about this?

Hi, how are you?

I heard this from a fan at the October 5th show in London. I wouldn't have believed her had she not told me that the aftershow was happening at The Marquee and that Prince would definitely play. (It was, he did, and it was great). She said he has the most NPGMC members in both England and Holland.

The rumor was started by Prince himself so he could sell even more memberships to people who are anxious to see him again hmm

the origin of this rumor is easy to trace back ... in the merchandise stalls at the shows you can buy a "souvenir access all places VIP pass". It's a laminate much like the ones you get as a member, only with words like "souvenir access all places VIP pass" on the front and a list of all dates and venues of the euro tour on the back.

The only interesting thing about this pass is that it mentions this, and i quote litteraly (although from memory;) :
NOVEMBER 2ND : HIENEKEN MUSIC HALL

Besides spelling Heineken wrong, i think they decided to book Ahoy for this date after the lightning fast sell out of the 15th.

I hate to think he really wanted to play the HMH on the 2nd instead of Ahoy. Besides being much closer to where I live, it's smaller and a better place to watch this show.

My 2 cents? I really think people sometimes want something to be true so much that they oversee the logic.

Rotterdam on Oct 15 showed us there were 1200 member TICKETS sold. So that's maximum 400-500 members with their guests and some who came 'alone'. It's not like there were 1200 MEMBERS adding up to 2000+ with their guest like it was suggested in some posts.

So, riddle me this: Would Prince really considder doing a 'members only' show for about 1200 people in the 5000 capacity Heineken Music Hall?

There you go.

It seems possible he'll do some more dates before Japan. I mean, what the hell are they going to do for 2 weeks after the 2nd??

Again, I don't believe the rumour.
But in aswer to your riddle:
When the concert would be all seated HMH does not have a 5,000 capacity - more a 2,000 capacity.

Plus the previous theatre 'Grace' is now also part of HMH in the form of another concertroom!... this theatre can hold about 1,500 people...

So there you go.

Wouldn't that be like a 'members only' aftershow?
There are more logical locations for that...

Well, the NPGMC members only show in London is rumoured to be held at either The (new) Marquee (like the aftershow), and the Dutch show at the Amsterdam Paradiso. Like you both I hope he plays the latter, because it's a superb (and legendary) venue. Will it really happen though? That is the $100 question.

$100 dollar question indeed, that sounds like what he would have us pay for something like this;)

I cant see Prince moving all his equipment back to London to perform a show he will unlikly make no profit from. Aftershows are thin on the ground, I think he is just getting a little tired, its a long tour. I think he would chill in Spain or something for those 2 weeks, give him a break, weve all seen him 3 times already on the same tour.

This romour was started by fans, I heard it too, who said its "possible" he would play more daates in London etc when the tour finished. If there was a members only show I will be there, but I think the romours have been mixed up with the members only aftershows which is true.

At the afterparty following the 1st Rotterdam concert, Candy Dulfer assured us there is a huge chance there will be an aftershow performance at Nighttown, nov. 2nd! So that would be the extra member concert.
Can't imagine there will be another members-only gig the next day...
