All the critics love U in Holland! After having experienced another truly funky show oct. 15t in Rotterdam I wondered what the newspapers would write the next day...well finally they got their act together! The Parool (Amsterdam newspaper) was very positive about Prince's performance. Especially the jazzy Rainbow children part, the funky quitar rifs (he's still one of the top guitar players in the world) and the old songs he rearranged to his 'new' wave. He was praised for the fact he played his new material which was kind of risky, but also compliments to the audience who adapted it immediately. No 'little red corvette', no 'pop', but yes he was learning us new music also with the classics performed in a different way. He still is showman no. one! So thank you dutch reporters (so far so good in the west part, don't know about the rest yet). To the NPGMC members...whatever your opinion is (good or bad), we were treated again with a show no other artist can compare to, the soundcheck was worth waiting for 100% and who needs an aftershow after a 2 and a half hour steaming show? I mean that would be great..but I'm still walking around with a big smile on my face so why get greedy? Experiencing Prince perform is a priceless thing!I'm looking forward a lot to the 2nd of november, so let's all be satisfied we have tickets and get the change to see the soundcheck, forget the fact you are in first, second or last line at the venue...the man's music is reaching all of us and didn't he mention harmony?
Enjoy november 2nd! | |
