Hamburg, Highlights & Club Mojo Hi all,
Well, it was worth the wait (a few years)... my lawd, was Prince in a good mind. One of the German security guys told us that Prince was a little pissed off because of people trying to take pictures. Maybe that's the reason why it took pretty long before we were allowed to enter the venue for the soundcheck, but again it was worth it. Prince was in a good mood and joked around with Eric Leeds ("this is the 21st century, Eric"). Did I mentioned that the sealed-off members-only area really is a thrill? Man, we felt lik VVVIP's there! The concert was awesome, just take a look at the set-list posted by others. A few of my highlights: - the entire Rainbow set (funky, jazzy, cool) - the 'Cool' intro - amazing hornz...Maceo and Candy rule and don't forget Greg - the incredible John B. on drums - Sometimes it snows in April (it really took me 15 minutes to recover) - The Ladder - and last but not least: Purple Rain (yes, old habits never die) After the show, an official NPGMC AfterParty was announced over the PA in the Mojo Club. Unfortunately, when we entered the Mojo Club, there were only turntables, so obviously no gig that night. Man, the bald DJ is maybe the worst DJ I ever heard performing. When we left around 01:45, the black tour-bus was parking in front of the club, so we turned our asses and moved back in. Prince entered the club and did some crazy stuff on-stage while instructing the DJ which tracks to play from the upcoming live album (GREAT STUFF!). At 02:30 we were complety worn-out and decided to drive back to the Netherlands (a 3+ hours drive). Prince and our Germany friends: thank you for a great night! peace, Marc & Corien. the live trax played at the mojo from a CD-R (? - looked shiny-golden) were:
alphabet st. all the critics love u in ny calhoun square before the regular show they played over the PA: the question of u they all seemed to be the "celebration" live versions and are not included in the "official" track-list of the ONALive! set... ??!! changes?

prince also introduced maceo parker, who was on stage with him at the mojo, before playing his (maceo´s) new live version of PASS THE PEAS over the PA.

Yes,
that's kinda strange. Besides Alphabet St. the songs are not listed on the known tracklist for ONAlive... The reason that it's strange is because on NPGMC-news Prince says: October 16: HOLD ON 2 UR WIGS!!!... Slammin' Afterparties all across Europe: THE ONE NITE ALONE LIVE CD..."the next best thing 2 being there!"- Napoleon, avid Prince fan and club member since his death It looks like the tracks played are from the new 3cd-set. So: - wrong tracklist - modified tracklist - Prince 'pulling a Monica' again Peace, TheKid [This message was edited Thu Oct 17 5:47:36 PDT 2002 by TheKid] [This message was edited Thu Oct 17 5:48:02 PDT 2002 by TheKid] Life's what u make it, stop whining baby Love comes 2 those who care...
