Dance your ass off @ ONA - guaranteed weight loss!

Lemme start by saying I was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY by this show. Unbelievable! I've never had so much fun at a concert - this was hands down the best Prince show I've EVER attended. Lucky #7 was good to me! Brought a friend with me - it was his first P show ever! Lucky dog got good seats w/ only half the drama, he better be damn glad he knows me! LOL! He was in a daze ALL NIGHT, he's turned out now... wink

RudeDog pretty much called it w/ the soundcheck details - I couldn't understand a word he said when he was hiding. All the egg talk went over my head - the mic was muffled or something. I was close enough to the front that I tingled when he walked past the front row to the stage - pimp walk still intact. I love this man, he's absolutely beautiful inside & out... okay, lemme stop gushing!

About the dude with the gift, and this is not a stab, but WHY did Prince have to say "SIIIIIR?" for the guy to pick the gift up off the stage??? He kindly, and I stress KINDLY refused it but wanted the card and the dude STILL tried to just leave it up onstage. It's obvious that kind words & warm gestures mean more to him than a collage of pictures - I'm sure he gets enough looks @ himself y'all! What can we give him that he doesn't already have??? Stop w/ the gifts already, P is right - our presence is gift enough.

He seemed in good spirits, very low key. Looked great w/ a dark suit on - not sure if it was black or a dark shade of purple. John seemed to miss a cue here & there in the songs they rehearsed, so they played for a while getting things right. It was HILARIOUS when he said, "Yes it is extraordinary that you're yelling out songs to me!" I desperately wanted to ask him a question, but we never got the chance. I don't care, he probably would have had to shoot me down anyway but I would have understood. My question would have been: is there any way you could be talked into singing U're Gonna C Me??? Y'all don't know how many times I've dreamed of being the broad on the pillows while he sings that during the piano medley, but so what I CAN DREAM!!!

I don't think people realize how much of an honor it is to witness this man at work. They take for granted his generosity, having the NERVE to complain about the soundcheck. I hate that some "fans" are so ungrateful - why don't you just come @ showtime if you're just gonna bitch. It's a perk, NOT a guarantee. Complainers SUCK!

The only song from the January d/l's was A Case of You, which was SWEET. I wanted him to do ONA so bad! Loved hearing Xenophobia before the show - looking forward to that album!!!

I really like the way the setlist is layed out. Gives you just enough time to groove then cool down, groove again, cool down again. I danced so much! I can't remember a time when I've felt so free, so lucky just to be in the house! He seriously wore me OUT, I had to sit for a while! TRC got the energy going right away. I almost lost it when he went into Mellow - DAMN this sounded great!!! His voice is amazing, so clear, FLAWLESS especially on Avalanche. That song is great - I just stared @ him in awe, floored. Plus Maceo played from the balcony & his solo was incredible - his applause went LONG after that, couldn't even hear P singing for a few seconds 'cause we were loving Maceo so much!

1+1+1=3 is GREAT live! As much as I hit "skip" on it before, my ass was shaking on that one! I don't skip it anymore, reminds me of the show - yes, I've had TRC on repeat ALL DAY. Prince was laughing so @ the old man dancing, he skipped a few lyrics @ one point - he looked so happy! And the old man was FUNNY! Doin' it like only your uncle could, lol!

"Love Rollercoaster" had EVERYBODY going! We were jumping up & down, the floor was shaking, it was off the hinges!!! A lot of people comment on Pass the Peas being too long - I thought it could have been longer! Of all the times I've heard that song, I never knew what it was called. I know, Music 101. I dug it. BIG sing-along for La La La Means I Love U, he seemed to like us all singing together & I love that song so I could have sung it even more.

Thought Ronda's vocals should have been louder on Didn't Cha Know - really nice song, but you could barely hear her. And you know anytime P leaves the stage folks are looking for a reason to get distracted, so the volume thing didn't help. From what I read I was scared for her, but once I heard her do it it was fine. Just make her louder next time!

When U Were Mine is not a fave of mine, but it felt really good that everyone was in unison on that one. I'm sure the casual fans were relieved on that one, lol! I kept looking back & the entire room & balcony was just lapping it up!

He might wanna switch up the intro to Family Name, too many people are up on it. When he asks what their names are, they approach the stage before he even gets the question out & throw out names that seem fake. Wonder how many people are hogging this moment @ multiple shows b/c they know it's coming?

Everlasting Now was incredible - more jumping, smiling & dancing. SO good! Adore, Free & Nothing Compares 2 U were GREAT. Fuck, I'm gushing again, but I can't say enough about how great this show was! The complainers must be nuts! People went crazy for Diamonds & Pearls, the hardcores loved Condition of the Heart. HCUDCMA was cool, but it was interesting that he didn't do it w/ just the piano. Maybe he really did like Alicia's version??? confused He had the drums going & everything, that was surprising but it sounded good.

For the ladies: he's still wearing clothes that "fit" you'll be happy to know. He changed into a sparkly purple & white/cream shirt & pants that were pretty snug. Looking all fine, he's in great shape. (panty check...)

Loved reliving Annastesia, wonderful song to end w/. Didn't mind the so-called "preaching", thought it was pretty general & nothing to get offended over. Everybody has their truth, let him have his. I saw NOTHING wrong w/ anything he said. He still did the NPGMC promo during this song - maybe if I hadn't read about it I wouldn't have thought twice about it, but I think (and who cares what I think, LOL) that a better spot for a promo is before or after he's had us on our feet & made us sweat! THAT'S when we're vulnerable, lol!

No aftershow, but it is a quick turnaround to Arizona w/ only one day of rest. I'm hopeful (b/c of the NPGMC post) that he'll slide back through & do one for us. I just hope I'm in town!!! AAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!! So no Calhoun Square for me, but I'll live & I ain't mad. I was SO friggin' tired, it's probably a good thing he didn't.

All in all, I had the best time - this was the most amazing show. I've never danced & smiled so much in my life! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU PRINCE for sharing your wonderful spirit with all of us! I'm so glad to share the planet with this dude, he brings me too much joy.

RUN to see this show! Shake out your purses, get an advance on your paycheck, donate some sperm - just GO! You WILL NOT be sorry... mr.green mr.green mr.green
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

1+1=3 is the best song on the record and you skipped it? What are you're top 5 Prince songs anyway? You must not like the funk at all!

Hey Calhoun Square!! So glad that you had such a kick-ass good time at the show!! I was wishing that he would sing "U're Gonna C Me" at the Cleveland show too, but he didn't. It would have been a perfect addition to the piano medley that he played. But it was a great show, no doubt about that. I wish he could come back around to the Midwest area so I could catch another show, but I don't know if that will be happening. biggrin
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

One thing that I can definitely agree on is how free u feel at his concert. I havent been 2 that many concerts...but Ive been 2 at least 4 and I was somewhat self-conscious or it was just a laid back kind of show where u didnt get up. I remembered wondering b4 the show if we were going 2 sit down the whole time, and if that would even be possible. I dunno, the fact that it wasnt general admisison had me thinking we HAD 2 sit or something..I was wrong.

But, yeah, everyone just didnt give a damn and wuz partying like they just didnt CARE! cool
