I phoned AEG this week and asked for Maxine, as she was always so polite and seemed to be trying to sort us out( with upper tier tickets though!), but I was told that she is no longer there..
I left several messages to Julie Mann, but so far no reply. I just want to know who is dealing ( if they are at all) with our complaints and how much longer we have to wait, but now that the tour is over, I think that they couldn't careless about us...although it's Prince playing while you await to be put through to her voicemail.. Anyway, I'm aware there are several threads with this same subject, but I just thought we should keep this subject very "alive" as there are probably thousands of people in the same situation.Thanks.

I have just called Julie at AEG and been told that my refund is on the way but that it is only for the £31.21 face value per ticket.
I told her that I was not happy with this amount and did not think that it was a fair refund considering the original price of the VIP package and the fact that my tickets were restricted view behind the band (not 'very best seats' as advertised) and the lack of the pre-show party, buffet etc. I will definitely be going down the lines of the small claims court against Ticketmaster now. [Edited 10/15/07 7:02am] Hi lisaf,I have just spoken to Julie Mann, and she said exactly the same thing. I thought she was quite abrupt and said that this is her final offer and if we want to pursue the matter ( legally) any further is our right to do so.She also said that I had been offered to return to the concert but I've declined it so this is what I'll get.True, but I was offered upper tier tickets and not the "very best seat in the house" which at that stage I had concluded that it should be either lower tier or the suite seats.I've explained the situation, which I believe is similar to yours, that when I bought these tickets I had been offered the "very best seats in the house" and not behind the band, and the poor VIP reception,etc..Anyway, it seemed that I was talking to myself, as she refused to discuss this with me.I would appreciate it if you could please org me/ or answer this thread with how you are intending to pursue this matter. Thanks again.

Julie Mann is just toeing the company line. I am sure she is a nice person and probably wants to give you your money back, she probably also wants to keep her job.
Go back to ticketmaster, they are legally liable. It was very courteous of us all to do ticketmaster the favour of dealing directly with aeg on this. Now ticketmaster have to do the right thing. Legally ticketmaster are liable under the sale of goods act. Maxine admitted that the seats in E1 were not the best in the house, so you have them on that. What you were given differed from the description..

Maybe it's time to be sending registered letters to TM with a view to taking this further. Rain is wet.................

(As posted on the other VIP refund thread.....)
Hey guys, I'm confused. To start with, I'm in this with everyone else cos I won't be accepting £31.21 refunds either (that's just taking the piss), so also intend going down the small claims route. What confuses me is people changing from corresponding with AEG over it all this time & getting offered refunds, to then making their claim against Ticketmaster. Does that not massively complicate things? And does this mean people will be turning down the AEG £31.21 refunds in order to make a claim for the full amount against TM? (It also grieves me to think that if everyone claims against TM, AEG won't have to refund anyone much at all ). And one last thing ... does anyone know how the guys on this thread http://prince.org/msg/12/238801 (eg tally4142) got on claiming against AEG/TM ages ago???

By dealing with aeg, we have been doing ticketmaster a favour, It is legally their responsibility.
if my refund cheque arrives and it is 31.21 and not the agreed full amount, i will drop my cheque back to Aeg in person. I will then go to ticketmasters office in leicester square and give them 7 days to refund me. If that fails, Then i will go down the small claims track. I will also invoice ticketmaster and Aeg live for my time. Might take a video camera with me whilst i am doing these things. Ticketmaster are legally liable to the customer. AEG are liable to ticketmaster. So if ticketmaster refund us, Aeg must pay them.

[Edited 12/2/07 16:14pm] from what i heard there was pressure as when folx said they got full refunds ticketmaster n AEG were bombarded with calls demanding the same. looks like there a lot of angry fams out there. i myself just got off the phone with ticketmaster again n there saying the same as the the last guy called john.....no joy im afraid. it seems there no longer giving out full refunds as everyone is demanding one now. In my opinion. (not a legal one or a fact)In cases identical to mine, people deserve refunds.
- Tickets were mis sold as being the best seats .. some of those were restricted view. Which according to the legislation linked to by Markland and the advice given by consumerdirect.gov is a CRIMINAL offence. I am not going to speculate on why threads are locked, I doubt it's a free speech issue though, and would be disappointed if it was due to pressure from Aeg. Having given refunds (and that was what mine has been called all along apart from the 64 pounds "goodwill" cheque -) i must say i wonder how many small claims cases ticketmaster/aeg can ultimately win if they choose to defend them, the precedent of refunding people has been set. has anyone who went to small claims had a result?

i see you smiling there AEGsuck..
Did you actually win in court, or did they settle out of court? my impression was that you took them to court, then they offered you the money pre-judgement.
