Rotterdam experiences

Hi, Last night when I came back home from the concert and the afterPARTY I was pretty pissed/upset. I started writing a new topic for this website. And it was not so positive.I was very disappointed that the announced aftershow turned out to be a DJ set only thing...I had run the lungs out of my body to get to the Nighttown venue and we were able to get inside rather fast. This was going to be my first aftershow. I was very excited. Since this was the only concert I had tickets to, it was the only possibility to see Prince and the NPG in a small club on this ONA tour.
The band members showed up and Prince even made an appearance, but no performance. I was slapped in the face! This was my chance and it flew away! My friend who was my member guest, couldn't believe it either. We went home at 4.

Now a day later,my complaining about the aftershow thing is over! I realise that we witnessed some really great music and musicianship at the soundcheck and the concert. More than 3 hours of music! I really loved the first part of the show (It's time for pop to die)! And it is as it is...no aftershow for me! But much respect to Prince and his fantastic band and thanx 4 this magnificent experience!

Peace
I got a ticket for the last show of the euro ONA tour! wink

No such announcement was made... it was CLEARLY announced as the official NPGMC afterPARTY ... if you read up on previous concert reports that would have given you a very big clue that he wouldn't be playing. Also the way he left the stage ... i immediately knew there would be no show, and that the night was indeed OVER.

Whe the 'official afterPARTY' was announced it was uncertain for me as well if there would be a performance. I remember Prince saying during the concert: 'We're having the afterparty right here, in this place!'.
But of course I also figured this afterwards. Had a great night though, Prince made an appearance at Nighttown- it was not spectacular, but cool anyway.

Guys, it's very simple..All you do is find one of the members on their own, and ask them nicely if you can go in as their guest, and offer to buy them a drink when in there..Not going to the gig shouldn't be a reason not to go to the afterparty..Some friends of mine went to two that way, including sat in london

I don't understand the confusion;)
It's either a show or a party... in ahoy we witnessed a show. After this show there was a party ... the dutch guy announcing this party named it the after-show party.

In the past they always announced it as an aftershow or and afterparty. That was more clearer.

Batdance

I think the issue of soundchecks and aftershows should be put to a vote here on prince.org. We should have a thread with people spelling out why soundchecks/aftershows should be continued or why they should be dropped.
