wanna see what i saw last nite ? Ok this is how I saw it.
Got to the venue around 4.30, couldn’t believe the queue, eventually got in late, due to the venue not knowing it was general admission for the music club, this meant P could only do 1 song – days of wild – wicked, sign of things to come. He was looking kinda sharp at the soundcheck too btw. I was seated in around row 5, and had a better view than when I was in row 1 for the soundcheck so please don’t worry if your not at the front of the queue, it seems some people waited in line around 4/5 hrs longer than me and sat 2/3 yards in front of me – go figure ! Oh yeah, the show. I mean, I’ve been to many many gigs over the years , P and others , and this was , without a doubt the most incredible live performance I have ever seen. The Rainbow children Muse 2 the Pharoah The Work Extrodinary Mellow 1+1+1=3 (love rollercoaster) The Ride Strange Relationship Strollin Bambi Whole Lotta Love Gotta Broken Heart Again Pass the Peas Family Name Take Me With U Raspberry Beret Everlasting Now Piano One Nite Alone, Adore u're gonna C me, Do me Baby, Wanna be your lover, The most beautiful girl in the world, 1 line only ! Diamonds and Pearls, Condition of the Heart the band returns Nothing Compares 2 U The Beautiful Ones (great version) How Come U Dont call Empty Room The Ladder All The Critics Love U in London I mean just look at the tunes ! He played gotta broken heart again ! my new favourite song. He played the ladder !! All the critics love you in London ? Hell yeah ! He spoke a little about that lookalike picture that was in the papers a little while ago (with names of the papers projected onto the screens) comments including “sat with a blonde I would NEVER be seen with” lol Without a doubt the best band he has ever had, so tight, so fluid, able to go in any direction they want to. He cut down noticeably on the religious aspect of the show too, no askin anyone to change their name for the nite. He was in a very playful mood all nite too, invited 3 crowd members up for a dance competion during the work, the only male had a t shirt tied round his neck, when P saw this he said “I’m scared of him, he gotta cape!” By the way, if any of the 3 of you read this, y’all tore it up ! Incredible full versions of songs, a truly wonderful adore, very funny spoken bit in the middle “ you can burn up my clothes, well maybe not this outfit” “you can smash up my ride, no baby not the lexus, oh no my favourite car” Condition of the heart, had to redo the first line so it said “there was a girl in London” Empty room live ! oh man, too much. And finishing with all the critics love you in…London. Just the funkiest thing I have ever heard, seemed like half the crowd was on stage. Ok, it had to end so it was on to the afterparty. We got to the Mayfair Club, only to find, after much arguing, that the party that was already in there wasn’t leaving, so it was moved to this little place called the click in wardour st, which was actually an ok little place. The regulars were very accommodating , especially the young lady who ………nah, we wont go there ! P arrived ,dunno what time!, some nice tunes were played, including a live joy in repetition, I hope this is the version on the live cd cos it was the bomb. He left around 3 and things started to wind down , I left a little while later, got home around 4.30, bed around 5, here I am at 9.30 back in work, It was worth every second. If your going your very lucky – the kid is in rare form. [This message was edited Fri Oct 4 3:44:11 PDT 2002 by bluebird] <<< my future baby mama

Thanks for the report!

I guess that's funny but it's also sorta mean. I'm assuming he meant he'd never be seen with her because she isn't "hot" enough for his standards..? Maybe that chick doesn't meet his beauty criteria, but it's rather low to slam somebody that way in front of a whole crowd of people. I (L) you, Prince, but sometimes you're a meanie. Thank u sooo much for the review, really can't wait now, am travelling to London for Saturday gig & there hasn't been much in the media about P's latest form (aren't they fickle?). Was already looking forward to show, even more so now.

Diolch yn fawr!
Great report, great performance, as P said 'it's been a long time - I'm back' and we did indeed see real musicians on stage - P has returned. For me the most impressive band member is Blackwell, he gave a superb performance on the drums - I know that the set was particularly technical last night. G.

I think all the staff in the click were told to touch up the men in the place as much as possible. I did wonder what sort of location it is! However it was great in there whilst the Purple music played!

Well, that's your opinion, and I have my opinion. I'm not somebody with a pole rammed up their ass or someone with no sense of humor, but I do think what he said was a bit mean and below the belt. Also, dare I say - to make a joke like that isn't very "Christian". Maybe you'd have a different opinion if that girl was your sister or a close friend...or even yourself, and a whole auditorium full of people were having a laugh at your expense about something like your appearance. Or maybe I just can't get into meanspirited humor about someone's looks. I've never been one to do that to people and I just can't appreciate it when others do it. But, as I said, you're welcome to your opinion on it and I have mine. I don't think just because my thoughts on it are different than yours they merited a condescending "OH PLEEEZE". You really think you're the last word and only authority on lots of things, don't you? Thanks for your comment on my comment.
