Prince at new Newark, NJ Arena????

Hey guys...I was listening to a radio show with Newark, New Jersey mayor Cory Booker. When he was talking about his new Prudential Center arena he kept mentioning the great artists that were going to be playing there. He named the already confirmed R.Kelly, Hannah Montana, etc. BUT he definitely named PRINCE TWICE!! I know there isn't anything on Ticketmaster about this but has anyone else heard anything...??

PS-I've read that Booker is a big Prince fan himself so it wouldn't surprise me if he tried to get him to come to the arena...

Would be great! Please keep us informed - it's only a 7 hours flight from here but I would LOVE to be there!

Seriously...go here and listen to the 10/11/07 podcast interview. Let it download and then fast forward it to minute 47 and let it play. This is the second time he names Prince and it definitely seemed as though something was lined up..

he really does say Prince- and it does sound as if talks are happening or happened. hmmm fan or not, would the mayor of a major city say this if something hadn't been discussed at least?

Yeah, I'm ready!!! woot!
Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

Okay guys even more proof something is the works for this venue...recent newspaper article Booker mentions negotiations in the works for his "all-time favorite"...doesn't give dates but come on he's talking about Prince people!

link here: http://www.nj.com/news/le...thispage=2

3rd paragraph after the advertisement...
"The mayor said fans who made it to the R. Kelly show might want to know that the performance was not just a once-in-a-blue-moon event. Prudential Center staff has been negotiating with a number of African-American and Hispanic performers and hope to lure them to strut their talents in Newark in the coming months, Booker said.

He said there are some negotiations underway with some top performers, but he wouldn't reveal any names, saying he didn't want to spoil any of the negotiations.

"But I'll tell you this," he teased. "Among performers is one of my all-time favorites." He wouldn't give up that name, either." --nj.com

That's a tough one. The company that manages the facility, AEG, has promoted Prince tours in the past and that's probably where a lot of the tag-along press comes from. They push it in a lot of their press releases. But I can't front, I'll sleep on Mulberry St (OK maybe not that...but I will click a lot on Ticketmaster.)
