WTF! "Prince wasn't great at the O2"

Reformed rockers LED ZEPPELIN are to seek advice from SIR ELTON JOHN ahead of their reunion concert at London's O2 Arena next week (10Dec07).

The band are worried about acoustics in the venue - formerly the Millennium Dome - because John is the only artist to have put on a good show there.

And guitarist Jimmy Page is hoping to consult the Rocket Man hitmaker before they take to the stage for their one-off performance.

Page says, "The Stones sounded terrible (when they played there), Prince wasn't great, Snow Patrol was just this great monolithic noise.

"The only guy who sounded OK in there was Elton John. So I may talk to his sound man."

yea.. sound could be all distorted and ruin everything.. there were plenty of complaints about one Prince's performances on July 7 ..i think the Target Center. The acoustics echoed, the sound bad, Prince wasnt heard

They can just F OFF! They should have put on more night, not forced dedicated fans to pay over the odds. My mate is prob right in saying they'll be big disappointment too, can't say that about Prince. The Rolling Stones have lost the edge now. I'll listen to what they have to say when they do a tour at a decent price so my dad and bro who are fans can afford to go, like us Prince fans. I know what hes getting at but concentrate on making your fans happy first and... don't choose the O2 to perform at just because you were offered money! Or do they know they won't sound as good and making early excuses...! wink

i was at the 02 18 times 4 prince this summer....
was seated all over the place so i have a good idea....
lower tier on the sides were great 4 sound as well as upper tier on the sides...
having been VIP and had the chance 2 get famclub tickets 4 the ground near the stage in F3 n F1..was n F2 4 my VIP!!!!...the sound on the floor was the worst ever n i was bitterly disapointed.

U live n learn n i 4 1 would not b n a rush 2 go back 2 the 02....i would only go back there if it was the only place prince was playing like this summer...other then that they would not c wolfy 4 dust.

Why are you being so aggressive, they aren't forcing anyone as its a benefit concert for Armet Ertigun's charity. Maybe get your fact right before you accuse Zeppelin of being money grabbers.

The sound quality for Prince depended on your location, I had some great seats down near the stage and the sound was abysmal, other seats up in the Gods sounded a better but on the whole the sound was pretty poor but I still had a great time so who cares.

Ok fair dos about the charity side... I stand corrected there, but why not do a couple of dates to be nice to fans...? You know that they def got offered some cash to choose the O2 over other venues so hope that cash goes to the charity too.

And like you said you noticed the sound probs but still had a great time. So did I, I noticed it wasn't the best venue in the world but still danced and had a great time too smile

I think the reason they are just doing a one off gig is that its a unique event, for charity, a complete one off, it would be like if the revolution got together for a one off gig, it would be awesome and a great event to attend, if it was a tour some of the special feeling would be gone and its just done to make more ££££££ but i'd still go biggrin

The biggest shame is although its for charity there will be some people guaranteed tickets because of who they are or who they know, yep they'll donate, but then really big Zeppelin fans who didn't get a ticket will be paying touts over the odds, prob paying with money they don't have and none of that extra cash will go to charity I'm sure. Thats the reward for being a real fan whos not in the industry...

led zep will tour.

Ian Astbury leaked that the cult had been asked to support them next year.

I think the only thing that would stop a tour would be if the reunion goes badly.

The whole thing is a fiasco anyway, one massive publicity stunt under the sheeps clothing of charity, they are simply trying to bloat their already bloated ego´s, dunno why they simply did not pick the indigo for the gig or a bedroom somewhere. The sound comment is only made, coz they are scared shitless that they will make a mess of it and chances are they will wink
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Are you completely stupid?

It wasn't a Led Zeppelin gig it was a tribute to Ahmet Ertegun and fund raiser for a charity in his name

They didn't see a penny of the money and did it for charity!

Nice to see the facts didn't get in the way of your rant
