Rotterdam's Housequake!

Absolute funk!
At the moment I can't remember all the songs on the setlist but some were a surprise.
If I'm not mistaking and not in this order:
drumintro
Rainbow Children
Pop Life
Money Don't matter tonight
Strollin'
Housequake
Sign 'o' the times
Purple Preaching / Rain
Pass the peas
When u were mine
Raspberry beret
The work
1+1+1=3
Love rollercoaster
Strange relationship
Take me with U
Everelasting now
Adore
Delirious
Starfish and coffee
Ballad of dorthy parker
Beautiful ones
Sometimes it snows in April
How come you don't call me anymore
adore/diamonds and pearls/nothing compares to you
Days of wild
condition of the heart
the ladder

Some new songs

Hope someone else knows the order.
There is an aftershow going on but members only.

Da man was having a good time, too much Candy should have been more Maceo i.m.o.
other bandmembers, Greg, rhonda and I can't remeber the name of the keyboardplayer and a very good DJ warming up the crowd before the show started 8.45pm (It ended at 11.15pm)

There was some preaching about God being the one or whatever. I forgot, I went to the toilet.

Hope 2nd Nov will be able to top this one!

Feeling a bit deaf.
Erik.

hey, it had it's highlights (especially the first 4 numbers)
but a massive part of the show was too familiar 4 me, he seemed to be on his automatic pilot...

You can add Pop Life to the list and Purple Rain...

Yeah it's about that god never meant to cause us any sorrow and he will only be creating in the purple rain...

No it's not a actual song, but the Purple rain ended with preaching about harmony love the one bla bla bla
It ended with me flushing the toilet.

I felt that the first religious speech sort of put a lid on the great party vibe that was going on. I don't think the Dutch adience really appreciates being preached to in a concert.

I think Prince must have somehow picked up this vibe because when he tried it again a couple of songs later, he was a lot less sure of himself. He did a great show, don't get me wrong, but I felt there was something missing after that, a loss of connection or something.

Had a GREAT time though.

so what i thought, aftershow in rotterdam - cool, i am happy 4 the witness

as long as it comes 2 the regular show... well the setlist seems pretty much similar 2 frankfurt but peach is missing and others were added, cool, its never the same on the end! what about the soundcheck? ah well, member should write their experiences as well...
2 much candy? can not b, never... well it ain't over , it' ain't over... almost 3 hours?

so how was that?
How come you don't call me anymore and which NEW? (xenophobia?) songs were played? what do u say 2 the octopuss man blackwell? ain't that a genious as well? everbody on the stage is just brilliant in his job! i do hope 4 a live release (from europe concerts as well as some dvd!)

relegious speech - i guess he already came down and almost controlled his preeching, compared 2 1998 when graham joined him... its not more than he did earlier in the 80 & 90-ies... what bothers me more is the explicit-less, and upright washed songs - no more curse words... yes sir, but ur songs also lived from its story - why change the names and soul of ur once so beloved children (songs?) - bring back the dirty fonk please... we know that there is a good and i do believe in such a power - but i keep that 4 me - i would rather see u more joking around than telling us that good guides u through this world... guess what? every war which goes on now is based on religous descrepancy and intolerance - love is good, but not godness dictation from so called preachers (not offending prince 4 his believes, but the brainwashed JW makes me more worries than peace).
sorry 2make it so weird, but my point is:
a) he changed back 2 better since larry is no longer with him (at least here in europe 4 this tour)
b) i do not like that he changed lot of song texts and castraded them 2 get JW salvation - where is the REAL SEXY MF?

very nicely put purplefab...
one thing about his preaching...it used to be more open and was for basically everyone who believed in a higher being and he did not make so many people feel uncomfortable, he even makes Christians feel very uncomforatable now
his talks are very limited, as if he rehearses what he is going to say and it is not positive, they r negative and only seem to put down people...at the Celebration he even said something about people not needing to have individuality anymore...i thought that was one of his main characteristics...being unique...what does being unique have to do with salvation?.hes not preaching salvation...he preaching painful separation that will only continue until he gets away....its not so much that i want the cursing/nasty Prince back....i just want the Prince back that preached total love4oneanother

2night's show,,
ABSOLUTE NEW POWER ENERGY FUNK indeed ! ! !

The original poster forgot to mention 'Delirious' during the piano solo in the end. Also during the soundcheck some notes of 'A love bizarre' were played.

Too much Candy and Maceo solo's to my humble opinion.
I would like to have seen another Blackwell or Rhonda solo.
Eric Leeds was a cool surprise during the rehearsal.

(at the afterparty Leeds ran on stage and pretended to be a flasher (dutch: vieze man) with raincoat and the moves wink

I am glad that Larry Graham is a gonner.
The religious mumbojumbo was reduced to a minimum.
(less than what i've come to expect from Prince in a long time).

The version of the ladder he played,, i always liked the song, but felt something was missing. Don't know what (forgive me). 2night, it was FABULOUS !
And Strollin'

I think he should play less hits and more real ONA grooves. The original jazzy-funky concept is gone...I think it's a shame...BUT the soundchecks are the real thing!
Now play Muse again after TRC in Antwerp...
