LOADS of peole got refunds and are still getting refunds.
First gather together all your complaints and replies to/from Ticketmaster and AEG Live. Simply go to get a CIVIL CLAIM FORM, and fill it in, paying the £35.00 fee. Use whatever excuses you can muster to show it was illegal on the grounds of goods and services not supplied... If you really think you were wronged then say why, and the courts will ensure you get a refund! Easy.

We got a call from AEG after out letter went in offering us seats, but we live in Manchester and have a year old baby so couldn't go. They said they would give us a refund.
Just called now and spoke to a Janet (I think that was her name) who clearly didnt want to speak to me. She did however tell me that they have had to verify tickets with ticketmaster, cheques have been written and are now awaiting signature but that I would only be getting the face value of the tickets. I asked why when I had paif over £200+ for each ticket and her words were 'I am not prepared to discuss this with you'. I asked if there was anyone else there and she said 'not at this time'...she was so rude and desperate to hang up on me! She then said it will all be explained in the letters that go out with the cheques - she then ended the call very abruptly. I shall most definitely be lodging a claim at the County Court on this one. They have treated us terribly - and dont seem to be learning from it by all accounts! (ref Spice Girls..) NEVER AGAIN!!! irishwolfhound said: THERE SEEMS 2 BE HUNDREDS OF FOLX ON THE REFUNDS LIST FROM THE VIP DISASTER @ AEG LIVE.....

thanks for keeping the issue alive- this would be a good case for a sticky. i have heard nothing since being put on the list. anything less than a full refund and i'll go back to ticketmaster. if in 7 days i do not get what i deserve will trigger a small claims action against ticketmaster.

I have just called Julie at AEG and been told that my refund is on the way but that it is only for the £31.21 face value per ticket.
I told her that I was not happy with this amount and did not think that it was a fair refund considering the original price of the VIP package and the fact that my tickets were restricted view behind the band (not 'very best seats' as advertised) and the lack of the pre-show party, buffet etc. I will definitely be going down the lines of the small claims court against Ticketmaster now.

So the bottom line is, to date, noone has actually received any financial compensation?

Hi lisaf,I have just spoken to Julie Mann, and she said exactly the same thing. I thought she was quite abrupt and said that this is her final offer and if we want to pursue the matter ( legally) any further is our right to do so.She also said that I had been offered to return to the concert but I've declined it so this is what I'll get.True, but I was offered upper tier tickets and not the "very best seat in the house" which at that stage I had concluded that it should be either lower tier or the suite seats.I've explained the situation, which I believe is similar to yours, that when I bought these tickets I had been offered the "very best seats in the house" and not behind the band, and the poor VIP reception,etc..Anyway, it seemed that I was talking to myself, as she refused to discuss this with me.I would appreciate it if you could please org me/ or answer this thread with how you are intending to pursue this matter. Thanks again.

I will be going throught the small claims court (against Ticketmaster now as they sold me the tickets) for the full £470 that I spent on two 'mis-described' VIP gold circle tickets.
The fact that AEG offered replacement tickets for another night can only work in our favour as they are admitting liability by doing this (and have also given a refund package for the same value as the original tickets). You can also get onto your local trading standards as they will look into it too as the VIP tickets were mis-sold and not as described. I will also be sending my case to Watchdog as the £31.21 refund per ticket is an insult, the pre-show party was not as described (four drinks tokens is not a complimentary bar, there was no buffet and no entertainment) and my block E2 tickets were restricted view behind the band (apart from the fact that the stage was so high you could hardly see anything).

I'm not in the case of requiring a refund but you guys need to see this through; otherwise we'll just contiue to get ripped off. Rain is wet.................

Guess that answered my question then, noone has received a penny to date

Hey guys, I'm confused.
To start with, I'm in this with everyone else cos I won't be accepting £31.21 refunds either (that's just taking the piss), so also intend going down the small claims route. What confuses me is people changing from corresponding with AEG over it all this time & getting offered refunds, to then making their claim against Ticketmaster. Does that not massively complicate things? And does this mean people will be turning down the AEG £31.21 refunds in order to make a claim for the full amount against TM? (It also grieves me to think that if everyone claims against TM, AEG won't have to refund anyone much at all ). And one last thing ... does anyone know how the guys on this thread http://prince.org/msg/12/238801 (eg tally4142) got on claiming against AEG/TM ages ago???

The claim would be against whoever made the claims that you disagree with i.e. "best tickets in the house" etc
If Ticketmaster advertised the tickets as, such sue them, if AEG Live made the claims sue them Alternatively make the claim against both Ticketmaster and AEG Live and hold them jointly and severaly liable That way you get the best of both worlds and cover all of your bases

I am totally disgusted at the way AEG live has dealt with these issues. The fact that they do not keep you updated & informed is dispicable. After about 20 calls to AEG & ticketmaster we are no further forward with our complaint.
Today i contacted AEG Live again after leaving a message for Julie Mann last week to call me of which she never did. They also have told me that we are to get a refund of £ 31.21 face value of ticket. Told them that i will be taking this issue to a small claims court. WHAT WOULD BE HELPFUL IS IF WE COULD ALL DO THE SAME & GATHER ALL INFORMATION TOGETHER AT THE SAME COURT AND PLACE INDIVIDUAL CLAIM FORMS COLLECTIVELY ??

Hi Freefallin, I've phoned ticketmaster today and of course, I've been told that the responsability is of AEG!!!Anyway, I haven't received my cheque yet ( according to Julie Mann the cheque will come with a explanatory letter!! ). I'll be going to the small claims court, but after seeking advice from the Consumer Direct, I've been told that before going to the small claims court I should try again from Ticketmaster, because this will be essential if I wish to place a claim. Therefore I'll send my complaint to Ticketmaster again, and then place a claim.Time consuming I know, but it may save some time in the end.. Who are you dealing with at Ticketmaster?? Let me know if you need a number. Also, I've emailed Watchdog today telling my "story".I think it would be helpful if other orgers did the same, the more the better. Is it possible to place a collective claim??!!If so,put my name on the list!! Please keep us informed.Thanks.

Still received nothing from AEG so sent in my claim for full refund with Money claim online. Copy below (just about fits into the 24 lines that you have).
Purchased 2 Prince VIP Tickets for £235 each on 14/5/07,instead of the standard £31.21,as they were described as 'very best seats in gold circle with preshow party, entertainment, complimentary bar, buffet and transfer to seats'.When tickets arrived they were in restricted view area behind band at back of stage.NO MENTION OF RESTRICTED VIEW WHEN I PURCHASED TICKETS.Contacted Ticketmaster to exchange tickets but they refused and referred complaint to AEG.Ticketmaster then released tickets in gold circle area at front of stage for £31.21.Went to concert, not as advertised for preshow party or seats!Spoke to AEG on 5/9/07 who offered replacement VIP night or refund within 2 weeks.Requested refund as couldn't go again.Still not had refund despite calling AEG (those that have received refund were only sent £31.21 per ticket not the full amount).I want a full refund under the Sale of Goods Act as the tickets and services differed to those advertised at the point of sale. Hope this helps anyone else that is going to claim the same way! [Edited 11/9/07 5:41am]
