3121 Vegas - revisited Everytime I think about my time in Vegas, I get sad. Wasn't that an awesome experience? I'm glad it was temporary, as I'm sure it would have run its course, but it was still magical. don't ya think?

I got to go twice--end of Feb. and the infamous "last show" at the end of March. I have to say, I am not usually an obsessive type, but I was honestly in absolute heaven. The whole trip for me (once with hubby and once with best friend) is something I will NEVER forget. I think about it often, and just feel so grateful that I got to experience it. Prince got me to Vegas, but the rest of fun was an added bonus.
So again, I'll say--I'm not a rabid fan. I'm not someone who easily gets caught up in the purple haze. But I have to also share that the night of 3/30, I got in to the jazz room for the aftershow. I sat right there. Not 10 feet from Prince while he played and jammed and enjoyed himself. I felt like I was witnessing history, and I don't know if I'll ever really have that feeling again. I think I was probably holding my breath, smiling, and just shaking my head most of the night. So yes--I'll probably revisit 3121 in my brain many, many times over the years. I even made a scrapbook of my trips to one day share with my kids. I imagine that one day, I'll be 85 years old, showing my great grand-kids my ticket stub where I paid an obscene amount of money (well in 2006 it was obscene!) to see the most phenomenal artist of my time in his element. And I'll tell them that they, too, should spend obscene amounts of money once in a while to have this kind of absolutely UNFORGETTABLE experience.

I went to London for two main shows and three aftershows and got on stage on the last night. As wonderful an experience as that was, NOTHING will EVER compare to a single aftershow in the Jazz Room at the Rio with Prince and the band jamming. NOTHING! As unpopular as this may be, I want him to go back to Vegas. LOL! Having Prince in a central location in an intimate location was a dream.

I'm with you. I felt the same way after the celebration. It was a week of joy and suddenly it was all gone. I also was lucky to attend the Friday night parties and had the time of my life until he left to go on tour and there also I felt sad. Then this summer the Macy's show and the Target Center show was another wonderful time. I felt sad again. I think it also reflects some kind of boredom in our actual life. In my case, working 8 hours a day, 5 times a week is not all exciting and if I don't do anything I like on a side, then it's a disaster. I'm trying to think Prince and the fans are not the only good thing in life and try to have fun somehow... I hope it helps. [Edited 10/10/07 17:06pm]

I went to 3 shows while he was in Vegas. I wasn't lucky enough to get into an aftershow, but having him there was so incredible. Is it possible he will be back?
