I wasn't implying that prince owed me anything, or that I 'own' him, and I haven't once debated his choice/colour/style of footwear. I was under the impression that this is a public forum, and that anyone can join in the debates.

It's my humble opinion that considering Prince's recent demands at the O2 (as isabel80 mentioned), he would be unlikely to perform at Glastonbury. Of course, he could at any point decide to follow the George Clinton route and offer a recording free-for-all at his shows - he's a human being after all, and perfectly entitled to change his mind whenever he so chooses. Perhaps I could have considered my choice of words a little more carefully (I wasn't exactly expecting such a backlash), so just to clarify: I meant that Glastonbury was 'beneath him' in the sense that he'd have no control whatsoever over the audience, and, essentially, he'd be just another act - Glastonbury is always the star at Glastonbury.

It always suprises me that members of fan forums disagree so vehemently, when, after all, we're here for the same purpose, right? - we appreciate Prince's music and performance? I'm chuffed to bits that I got to see Prince perform this summer, and I'm not really expecting to have the opportunity to see him again for a number of years (if ever). All in all, about as far from bitter and resentful as any mammal could possibly be, and quite happy to be virtually mingling with other like-minded individuals.

Yeah, how dare anyone post their opinions on a forum!

Yes, forums ARE for posting opinions. I just didn't expect such sarcasm and apathy from a bunch of alleged Prince fans. I realise now I shouldn't have started a a petition for something I was sure all of us would have been excited about.

And has been pointed out before on this thread, if it's not too grimey for Dame Shirley Bassey (and James Brown, and Kylie Minogue) then I'm sure Prince could more than handle it.

Eavis probably will approach Prince again, especially after his popularity this year in London. He has openly and frequently said in the past he wants Prince to headline one of the nights, and I'm sure he will be speaking to Prince about next year already (or his daughter will be at least, as she books a lot of the acts these days - in fact I would be surprised if she hadn't been to see him one night on this tour). Whether Prince will go for it or not remains to be seen.

GLASTONBURY 2008 - PRINCE PLEASE!!

Glastonbury is a fantastic and unbeatable place 4 atmosphere, Prince should definatly play, the only problem is getting a ticket.

the thought of finding Prince ambling around the healing fields is mind blowing...

i cant ever see prince doing the G fest or being accepted there as a headliner, BUT i know one thing, if he did an aftershow at the G fest.....simply imagine it.....

Fuck you all, whats your problem. Glastonbury is THE best festival around, rain or shine. Prince is the best live musician around, playing hits or not. I can see Radiohead doing a nice cosy suicide set between 9 and 11 then 11:15 P drops Sexy Mother Fucker as he walks on stage. BBC would love it, Glasto would love it, so called Prince org fans would love it too. The the aftershow in the Dance Tent ripping it up with the NPG and guest vocalist Thom Yorke would be wicked!!!

Or we could just keep dreaming, would love to see P at Glasto 08 but can't see it as I probably won't get a ticket which would be the worst thing in the world.
