Just playing my copy from the paper and there are no chapter points. I've looked at the DVD structure and it would appear they messed up when they added "The Observer" to the title page. Still, it works other than that

They often do that sort of thing when they give away DVD's with newspapers here. It is 100% deliberate on their part.

I agree GC79 I was just goin to post what you said!
I got a DVD a few months back and it was no better than the VHS I have had since it came out. This one sounds and looks loads better. Sadly no chapters on the DVD but fans from many years ago have had this before when the 1 song, id'less 'Losexy' CD came out in 88!

Ditto, gonna watch it later 2nite, perfect end to the weekend!! Just watched it. Almost, almost forgot how hot Cat was. I believe this justifies the one-man poster campaign I had in my room, in her honour, in the late 80's. Wonder what's she's doing now, maybe she'd like to pop round for tea [Edited 9/30/07 12:40pm] I gotta Phd in advanced body movement.....

was great watching that in DVD quality, brought back memories of seeing it at that cinema at the end of O'Connell street in dublin in 1988. If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

No chapters and runs 4% too fast - what a shame!
Everyone needs the Canadian NTSC DVD edition to get the great picture quality with the correct speed (and chapters!). The main problem isn't really that the audio is about a semi-tone too high but that the songs run too fast - so, "Slow Love" sounds more like "A Quickie"..... Seriously - if you've ever seen the film running at the correct speed you'll know that this sped up PAL DVD looses a lot of the feel of the original performances. [Edited 9/30/07 15:01pm]

[Edited 9/30/07 15:01pm] I've never quite understood this, as it was shot on film (24fps) which is a closer speed to PAL than NTSC. It should be that the NTSC is slow, not the PAL being too fast. ???

What they do is this: Film runs at 24 frames per second (fps) PAL works on a 50Hz system - effectively running at 25fps This is so close to 24fps that to transfer film to PAL DVD they just copy each frame in sequence. So, you get 25 film frames in a second instead of 24 - ie the film is running slightly fast. This speed up shifts the audio pitch up roughly one semi-tone and actually quite noticably speeds up musical performances. For a movie it isn't that much of a problem as dialogue isn't so reliant on the tempo being perfect - but for music it can ruin the feel of a number if the speed is off slightly. For NTSC (used in North America and Japan) it's a different story. NTSC is based on a 60 Hz system and runs at roughly 30fps (29.97fps to be precise). So, they can't just transfer a film frame for frame as the considerable speed up going from 24fps to 30fps would make everything look and sound ridiculous. Instead they use a method called 3:2 pulldown which results in almost perfect speed compared with the original film. The image is slightly less stable than PAL but for music films I much prefer that the speed is correct. Remember - all this only applies to things shot on film (such as SOTT) - things shot on video (like the videos on "Prince - The Hits Collection") will run at the correct speed whichever system is used. So, for SOTT - get youself the Canadian NTSC version on DVD (available from www.amazon.ca) to hear the music as it was intended. [Edited 9/30/07 15:43pm]
