PRINCE IS LATTER DAY CLIFF RICHARD Just seen this on http://news.bbc.co.uk/nol...006425.stm
Had to share it with you... it is one comment from the above article Classical musician Julian Lloyd Webber, writing in the Daily Telegraph, called the Minneapolis musician a "great performer", who reminded him of a "latter-day Cliff Richard". What do you make of that!!!! Prince could be described as many things.... but Cliff Richard????

it made me laugh when i read it, (does prince play tennis ?) a few of the other 20 nights' telegraph reviews are similarly 'unusual' in their nature, but at least they did make an effort 2 cover the once in a lifetime event.
i see prince more as the george formby of his generation, i think its the cheeky grin, and the axe solos !

Well, they both have Jehovahs Witness connections!! Cliff Richards(GOD!! I cant stand him!! ) mother and sister are both Jehovahs Witnesses and he used 2 go 2 the meetings as well many years ago before he chose his fame(or lack of it elsewhere other than in the UK)!! Also one of members of The Shadows, Hank Marvin is a very devout JW, in fact hes an elder, cos he used 2 be in my then future bother-in laws home congregation of Sidmouth in Devon before he emigrated 2 Australia so that he could practise the Faith and preach more easily without being recognized like he was here!!
So, its not very difficult 2 see why Julian Lloyd Webber would compare the 2!!

well, they are both full time 'god botherers', I don;t say that to annoy any religious people, you can be religious/have faith without telling everyone about it, which is what Prince and Cliff do. Prince's beliefs have recently affected his performances/recordings, he will not swear anymore, so he will not perform songs such as head, darling nikki, sexy MF etc
I think the best description I ever read for Prince was he was an artist with his c*ck in one hand and the bible in the other !!! Prince has always had strong religious beliefs, they were always part of his music, but also he was open sexually and was willing to explore that, now it appears his religious beliefs have taken a stronger grip on him and his life. So, i guess they are similar in that sense, with Cliff trying to get his religious beliefs out there via his music... I'd love to see Cliff cover Head lol

"London do you feel for me what I feel for you"- yes Prince - "Can I play my guitar now?" - yes please

Yuck h yes, one of my aunts in America loves him. When she came over here to visit she spent a whole shopping trip stocking up on Cliff Richard merchandise because she couldn't get it over there. Trivia: Cliff Richard has had the top selling celebrity calender in the UK pretty much every single year. I think he outsells Kylie & David Beckham combined. Have you ever seen when he announces a concert and the TV cameras film outside the box office of old ladies lining up days before? He's like Star Wars for pensioners

The funny thing is, I see Cliff Richard back in the 80s and he certainly had a mixed bag of an audience, much more mixed than any other gigs I have been to or expected. I guess his fan base are no different to any other, he has a loyal section. Got o admire some of these old dears though. You wouldn't catch me queing up for anyone.

Cliff Richard certainly does not give off any sex appeal does he, but Prince, sorry, he may be able to move like a god and all that, but he is just too weird to be sexy. And by the way, some boys next door have hidden talents
