Pre-aftershow tunes

I know this thread has been started before somewhere, but is there anyone out there who could kindly list the funky pre-aftershow tunes at Indigo2. I know "Atomic Dog" is my favourite (now I know where the lyrical influence for "La La La, He He Hee" came from).

Cheers in advance!

Starchild771

The music played on the 9th Sept and 21st Sept was mostly P-funk and Sly and the Family Stone.

I can't remember exactly what was played but I think I heard some of the following:

Parliament - "Mothership Connection (Star Child)" my tune wink

Funkadelic - "One Nation Under a Groove", "Cholly", "Standing on the Verge of Getting it On"

George Clinton - If you like "Atomic Dog", check out the album it's from "Computer Games" and I think tracks from "Hydraulic Funk" - "Hydraulic Pump", "Pumpin' it Up", "Generator Pop" - were played

Michael Jackson - "PYT"

I really recommend diggin' deeper into the P-Funk (Paliament/Funkadelic/Bootsy Collins/George Clinton etc) catalogue if you like "Atomic Dog", there is an absolute ton of mind altering, cosmic funk/funk rock there to be discovered and their influence is all over Prince's music - just listen to the beginning of "1999" and the beging of Funkadelic's "Electic Spanking of War Babies" cool
"Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip,
and come on up to the Mothership!"

I've put together a CD to conjure up those Indigo emotions. Not necessarily all pre-show tunes but ones that are memorable from the Indogo for various reasons.

Rock Steady - Aretha Franklin
More Bounce To The Ounce - Zapp & Roger
Atomic Dog - George Clinton
Superstition - Stevie Wonder
Sing A Simple Song - Sly & The Family Stone.
Pass The Peas - The J.B's
Dance Floor (Part I) - Zapp & Roger
Thankufalettinmebemicelfagin - Sly & The Family Stone.
DMSR - Well, I had to have him there somewhere and this just fits so well.
Higher Ground - Stevie Wonder
RIP sad

On the 21st the DJ played P's version of 'Everyday Is A Winding Road' which was a real treat as I was not a fan when Rave came out, but I listening to it with fresh (and drunk) ears made it sound GOOD!

Also Chaka's 'Whatcha Gonna Do For Me' was played

There was a killer remix of Sexy MF played the night I went (Aug 4). It wasn't the one from '92, so I presume its an unreleased / specially prepared version?
