Funk tune with dance beat b4 aftershow

Anybody now what the funk tune with the house/dance beat played before the aftershow was. It was about 12.45 and went on for about 10 mins. Loved it. I think it was followed by a Bootsy Collins song.

No, I'm familiar with the Sly stuff. This had a modern dance beat and was played for about 10 mins.

No sorry. I remember the one because it was different to hear a straight 4/4 after all that 1 and 3 stuff. But I don't know what it was. It sounded very much in the Bootsy / P-Funk vein though.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I think they played a Bootsy song straight after it as well.

Could it possibly be Hydraulic Pump (George Clinton) which they played lastnight?

I was pleased and surprised to hear a few tunes from P-Funk All Stars Urban Dancefloor Guerillas album from the early 80's last night! A rareley heard album. Mostly with good reason - but Catch a Keeper rocks!

That's the one! Thank you so much! Think it might have been a remix though. Just listened to it on Amazon and it's maybe a bit slower.

Nicky - I always used to use shazam when I was a clubber. Is / was a really good service. You dial 2 5 8 0 on your phone (the middle line of keys... easy to remember when a bit worse for wear) then dial and hold it up so it can hear the music and it listens for 30 secs or so. Then hang up and it texts you the song name and artist. If they can't identify it you don't get charged. Is about 50p I think.

Is really cool.

This was bugging me too for a while, because I couldn't remember it, but it hit me today... that ridiculously funky bass phrase was used in Fatboy Slim's Everybody Needs a 303, but I'm not sure exactly what it was sampled/stolen from. confused
