when will we b paid? 4 glowsticks? Yes, yes, we know that there was a huge eskimo/council estate glowstick riot that nearly killed prince and the twinz and we know specifically that it's my fault.
Please bear in mind, in order to create such anti social behaviour and anarchy on such a large scale even with the idea being totally stoled by the short dude in purple- it costs money.. dollars, cents, euros, or just plain old gold.. Now, i know some of you paid already for what your part in what will in time become known as the great glowstick war of 2007.. the thing is, I have no idea who paid, and who didn't and frankly I don't care much. i want you all to send as much money as humanely possible to me... seriously. I am totally out to con you and make myself rich. So seriously, stop looking at that treasured family heirloom, that cd copy of the apollonia 6 album or that sweet ass hat that prince threw into block 101.. Pop the thing on ebay and send ME the proceeds.. There were after all 23,000 glowsticks there that night.. and i only have received..the money for about 300 so far.. so somewhere out there someone owes me crispy wonga.* Please make **excessively large donations to me via paypal.. Glyn@ourdisco.com * yes, I am trying to confuse you..i actually paid for 600 but you never know, if someone wants to send me enough for 23,000 glowsticks, I am hardly gonna say no... i mean, really. ** if you just want to pay your fair share.. I guess that's tolerable. But it won't get you into heaven any faster.

And yet another reference to Council estates in thr glowsticks throwing fiasco. I grew up on one, and proud of it. People on council estates, as I said b4, would have more respect for Prince. It's the rich snobs, with more money than sense who would be stupid enuff to fling sticks at the stage, aided by drunken girlfriends. This reference has upset me, and I do like you Glyn. `U need 2 find a love that's gonna last'

isn't it just as bad to say that "people who live in council estates would never do it - it's the rich people" as it is to say that "rich people would never do it - it's the people who live in council estates" sounds to me like you've been offended by a sweeping generalisation and countered it with a sweeping generalisation sorry i'm in a pedantic mood i ain't looking for a 1 night stand...

Here! Here! I live on a council estate now and my glowsticks stayed firmly in my hand...I can see Glynns point though coz in general there are more naughty kids on council estates than in posh houses but theres naughty kids in all walks of life aint there and some of them never grow up enough to know the difference between right and wrong...x honesty is the best policy...

NOOOOO!!!
I don't think it's council estates OR eskimos... as i said on numerous threads already... The idea that the upper tier was full of eskimo thugs throwing glowsticks at people in better seats is to me just as stupid as the idea that it was people from council estates(i grew up on several) I was attempting to make the generalisations about who did it seem stupid. It's people who threw glosticks that are to blame for throwing glowsticks. and that is the only thing we can know realistically about any of them. My apologies to anyone who misunderstood, and my apologies for not making it clearer. The whole post was kind of a joke, Please read again with the idea that it's being written from the persona of a "fast talking wheeling dealing asshole"- (of which i am not one) Sincerely, i did not meant to offend anyone. It read as being actually quite funny to me. The whole post is ridiculous from start to finish, the only correct and honest thing in it is my paypal address. And a lesson to me, don't try and be funny AND pointed at 4 am -- it comes across all wrong. Further to that, i'd like to apologise to any Eskimos reading. Just to make it clear, there is no amount of money anyone owes me, If you feel like sending me some money for the glowsticks that is fine and if you don't really, it's supercool, I bought you a present, Go pay it forward if you wish.. Glyn xx It was a hilarious post, don't worry about it. And I say that as an eskimo on an assisted income. So it was all your idea, eh? (This is the first glowstick thread I've opened). Man, for 90 minutes I thought the wheel was re-invented and Prince would never play another gig without them. Needless to say, 20 minutes later I knew a glowstick would never see the inside of a Prince arena again. Damn shame. But well done all the same.

Glyn xx Needless to say, 20 minutes later I knew a glowstick would never see the inside of a Prince arena again. . Visually it was one of the most amazing things i have EVER seen. I would be surprised if this doesn't come back in some form at some point.. hopefully with the kinks of doing it on such a large scale worked out. i think if the glowsticks had been pre threaded so it was something you could hang on your neck it would have been less likely, people would have them in their hands less.. and i think not having it in your hands the whole time might psychologically convince people that it's meant to be kept. Honestly, the sheer beauty of it added a whole other level to the atmosphere in there... and despite them getting thrown, it's a lasting memory of my life..

I was charging 50p per glowstick as it made it easier - the actual cost worked out at about 44p each from glowmania. the guitar is the best instrument in the world!

Interesting point. Maybe they could indeed make a comeback in a more civilised form. Or maybe a more civilised country. You know, a theocracy like Prince craves. (Next gig in Iran then) glyn said: Honestly, the sheer beauty of it added a whole other level to the atmosphere in there...
Absolutely no doubt about it. Sure Prince played a great show, etc, but it was the glowsticks that made the night, the last night, extra special and justified all that effort many people put in to getting themselves there. It was a jaw-dropping moment when I walked in there. glyn said: ... and despite them getting thrown, it's a lasting memory of my life..
If it had been my idea to begin with, I'd feel the same.

I replied with passion, and emotion for something that i felt strongly about. I work with communities too, and hosted the council's corporate box, when communtiy groups came to watch Prince. They all live on Council estates, some are refugees. So to see the smiles on their faces when they entered the arena, and watch Prince, (many had never hear of him!), it blew them away, and will be soemthing they treasure for a long time. I do know too that all the other corporate boxes contained business people, and I have seen what they get up to in them, I won't say anymore than that. Lets's just say I know who would be more deserving of seeing a genius such as Prince. `U need 2 find a love that's gonna last'

Although I ordered my sticks from Popelife, I got 12 from 02 review outside RAAN and gave him a fiver, even tho he protested ...Did I do the wrong thing? Am I contributing to the Glowstick mayhem by raising this...? Gosh these things are darned complex aren't they.
