I myself didn't have the good fortune of getting tickets for the final night but i feel really gutted for the thousands of REAL GENUINE Prince fans that had to witness that mindless glowstick throwing!....True British fans of Prince have waited a long time to see this genius entertain us, with that type of behaviour i'll be surprised if Prince comes back for a long time!....If ever!...If anyone's seen the footage of the superbowl you'll note that not one glowstick was thrown on that stage!..The Americans know respect why don't we?...It's no wonder us Brits have such a bad reputation abroad!.....Sorry needed to sound off big time!!

I'm not keen on being called British either! I'm English myself - and v proud of it. I don't really see this as a nationality issue as i am sure there were people from all over the place on Friday who threw the glow sticks. They're wankers but just with a different accent.

I've had the opportunity of seeing the man many times over this fantastic 21 night tour and it's a shame that a small percentage had to behave in this way, but I'm sure they didn't ruin the show for everyone, or Prince for that matter, it just sounds like it really upset the orger's and rightly so, you are his loyal and true fans, so it's to be expected! Try and keep ya chins up folks!

I for one have enjoyed every show. The aftershows have been my favourites and I'm still buzzing from witnessing some of the most genius performances I will probably ever see in this lifetime... Wish I could thank him personally for the years of sonic delights he has provided us with, but that's a dream, so I'll just have to say it here I guess... "Hey, Prince, cheers mate!"

none of us can know the nationality of everyone who threw a glow stick and who didn't... so such generalisations say more about people making them and their way of seeing the world than they do about what actually happened.

Yes, it was thoughtless on their part, and yes, a group mentality emerged that made people likely temporarily forget that there were other human beings below them. Alcohol probably helped.



There are two groups of people you should be splitting it into.

Those who threw glow sticks and those who didn't.


If you are in the group of people who didn't throw glowsticks then you have NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF. Regardless of what people say...


If a generalisation doesn't apply to you, then it's not about you..

ii agree the glow stick idea was silly...when you consider we werent allowed to have the lids for our bottled water at the arena...but potentialy dangerous golwsticks in the hands of people who have drunk too much is ok...health and safety gone bonkers

You get fools anywhere in the world. The guy who I saw throw a glo stick was an Aussie; he was falling all over the place drunk out of his mind with the rest of his stupid friends

And it only started at the end when the stage cleared before the first encore and most of it stopped when P and the band came back on. Unfortunately a couple of dickheads went a little bit too far, but it is all getting a little hysterical on here.

Thought I'd add my tuppence worth. This constant generalisation that "The Brits are all a bunch of pissed hooligans" is boring and untrue.

We all know that a 'vocal' minority in any group - be it country/race/age/gender/sexual orientation/hair colour/number of piercings and tattoos (I could go on) can give the rest of the group a bad name.

So please chill out.

And just to give some perspective, Prince's bodyguard, Harlan Austin, said this:

Absolutely, fans are different all over the world. I found that the Asian fans made my job so easy. They would remain seated, and politely clap--it was almost like being at an opera concert.

The most difficult concerts were in the States. That was where we'd have problems: fights, guns, bomb threats. European audiences were somewhere in the middle, but seemed to have the most appreciation for music. I remember in the Netherlands Prince did a show where 70,000 fans all had lighters, and would flick them to the beat of the music. That was really something to see.

I was at the concert and it was amazing apart from the glow stick throwing. To be fair 99.7% of the people there was to have a fantastic night and enjoy the atmosphere and the music. The 0.3% of the others who were throwing stuff must be really off their heads and are not true fans. If you plan to go in there absolutely sozzled and cause trouble for everyone else, why go in the first place? Those tickets could have been bought by true fans who would've had appreciated the show and had a far better night!! Sorry but thats my opinion.
