I have been waiting for days 2 write my feelings and 4 whatever reason the server was down!
I was way back in row dd but didnt care - P was just sooo good and as everyone has said obviously happy and enjoting himself! I have seen a lot of gigs before and can say that this is the best i have seen him - he was truly on fire - the band were awesome too. I have become more emotional since - when I have been listening to the music in my car and thinking "he really played this!" - i just am so pleased for everyone who got 2 see him - I have not been a member of the npgmc b4 and i must admit i am not a great queueer - i just see myself as a regular guy who loves his funk and music - the mans guitar is simply indescribeable - he must rival hendrix now. I took along a friend who is into r n b and garage - liked some of p's more funky stuff but would not habitually listen to him - he was very very impressed by p's talent and humour - he described it as an awesome experience! I look forward to him returning soon and if he does read this org then would say just a big thankyou to him for sharing his energy and talent with me. I honestly feel that I WITNESSED something truly astounding and special on Monday and will try really hard to holdonto as many memories as possible! Rest of Europe and Japan - HOLD ONTO YOUR WIGS! YOU ARE GONNA BE BLOWN AWAY!!! ENJOY! A Very Happy Loverobot

It was worth the admission alone just to hear Purple Rain as his final song - Prince said that 'if you came here to hear Little Red Corvette - you might be surprised, but if you came to get ya Purple Rain on you better get outta here'.
And then he goes ahead and plays it - what a tease !!! SUPERB ! Rich.

First posting - first prince gig at manchester 7th for 8 years or so. Thought prince was magnificent. Lover his ointeraction and he was really into it, telling the crowd to shut up so he could play. Highlight for me was bueatiful ones, whole song just outstanding. Purple Rain was emotional and you got the feeling prince was just so in to the whole thing.
I've seen a lot of concerts at the appollo but never seen an audience so excited and involved. He is in a completely different league. He was a bit patronising going on about how he was there to teach us a lesson in real music by real musicians, very little religuous preaching which was good, he even cracked a line about we are all just the same, you're more like me than you think, its just that i like wierd clothes. The man has never been more confident in what he does and he's right this aint 1984. Tommy.

Really? Great! I haven't heard Xenophobia, so I didn't realise. I've amended the tracklist above too. --------------------

I think that`s pretty spot on , I must admit I really struggle to remember the running order - why is this ?
The thing about this setlist is the musical arrangement was more "jazzy" than the other 2 shows I saw and he played guitar far more so. The other thing that struck me was during the solo part was that although we all love the slow songs he really does hit the spot (for me anyway) when he does a song like I wanna Be Your Lover , or on this night Girls and Boys , how funky does he make the piano ? The roots of house music were in piano based funk , but it always had a drum beat to pump it up , he managed to make it even funkier without a drum beat. ***IF YOU TELL ME TO WALK A STRAIGHT LINE***
