Tradition is comming back on the camping site you have a glowstick fight.
I a lovely sight 100 glowsticks going back and forward.
Believe me prince did not feel a thing.
The sticks are made so.

The girl I was sitting with got smacked on the shoulder by a glowstick and was still in a lot of pain an hour later.

First thing we said when we got to our seats was 'there's going to be a shower of glowsticks from above at somepoint'. Surely AEG aren't naive enough not to realise this?!

I myself was using mine to play the drums on my brother's head.

We where in the upper tier and it was obvious that these things would start flying, and with the weight of them it meant that they would go some distance too.

I was concerned about the poor innocents in the lower tiers and on the floor, & they did look pretty when they were falling.

I was Horrified when I saw the lower tiers lobbing them at the stage and all the instruments. My view is, you can throw them at me! but don't touch my Warwick! mad

One fast way to end a gig!

Why is Prince getting hit by a glowstick any worse than the 99% of people in lower tier and floor seating who took the blows? At least the momentum is slowing by the time the stage is reached. biggrin

One hit me and I hardly noticed it anyway.

There was a group of people sitting BK 103 Row K Seats between 97 and 101. I was sitting two rows behind them. I thought they were all real prince fans, because they were dancing and having fun too. But all of a sudden one of the guys threw the glowstick at Prince and when it hit Prince, he wasn't even shocked that this happened, he was jumping around with his arms in the air, because this was exactly what he wanted to achieve. I was absolutely speechless, and to be honest, I was hoping someone grab this guy and stick him a glowstick in his a... Unfortunately I'm not the right person for those kind of things and in the end it wouldn't have changed anything. Just like prince said in resolution: "The main problem with war is that nobody ever wins...". wink

Yes, I saw that too ( I was 4 seats along from you) He also threw a beer glass earlier in the night. He was a right plank.

did u know that if a glow stick is burst opened or leaks, becoz its thrown in with big force...or its faulty,
and the fluid goes into ur eyes it can b a big problem?
it could even blind u.
Also do u know any physics?

A glow stick falling from the top of the level four of O2 dwon on2 someone on the ground seata could be very dangerous as the force is increasing with distance with height (ita all about gravity)

The O2 arena is not a little ol campsite dear.... even though i was on fire when i saw idiots throwing those lokens of gratitude!

thanks for ur peace.... back at ya.

Agreed.

I was in the third row of 102 and was close enough to see that the stick actually hit the end of the seat of his stool and deflected to one side.

My guess is that he didn't feel anything and maybe saw it fly down to one side out of the corner of his eye.

From where I was I was constantly ready to be hit on the head in the interval and felt very uncomfortable. If I knew I was actually the specific target of them whilst I am playing solo to 20,000 people with my back to the thrower this would make me be even more uncomfortable.

God only knows what would have happened if the stick was literally 2 inches higher, as it would have hit him square in the small of his back. I have seen artists quite rightly leave the stage when missiles are thrown from where they can see them, let alone from the back...

I was just glad for everyones sake that the stick did not land a couple of inches higher, as that was literally how close we were of seeing something unforgettable in a very wrong way.

I was in 103 and saw it come from a few rows in front of me.
Pretty sure it hit his stool though and bounced up.

My girlfriend was hit by one from the upper tier, and it hurt.

Plastic. Everyone's going on about them too much IMO. It was unfortunate and it lasted for about 5 mins total. Prince was not hit. It didn't damage the gig nor the experience as a whole, despite the wankerish behaviour from the few who threw them.

Don't know what sort of view you had but I was sat right behind him when he was doing his set on the synth that glow stick hit him square in the back, no matter how long it lasted it shouldn't of happened, and compared to other nights that set was def cut short by the wanker that threw it.

i didnt remember seeing Prince reacting to it?
Did he?

Prince is tough, I'm certain he's over it by now, shouldn't we all be too? Yes it was a shit thing to happen but let's move on. On the other hand, can you imagine if that stick had hit a professional football player, they'd still be rolling on the floor now acting like they'd been shot! See here for reference: http://www.youtube.com/wa...Y1no7nVYN8

Prince is made of sterner stuff that's for sure. biggrin

I agree. Let's put this issue to bed!

Just one more point though - I'm not convinced it actually hit Prince. I had quite a good view from block 102 and I think that it only hit the back of his stool. I imagine he would have been aware of the thud when it hit the stool but I don't think it actually hit him.

I had a great view of the incident...

It was Markland who did it!!!.. a regular poster on the org.. apparently he blames prince for the whole ticket fiasco and all the secondry selling.

but he didn't throw it he bought in a little contraption that flingd the glowstick across as he has little strength in his arms... then he shouted..... dam all the secondry ticket sellers....
One more card and its 22...
