stealing and thunder are the two words that come to mind. How dare they steal the Org idea? I am rather pissed off for all the effort that has been made by people on this website to get this thing off the ground -and some arse has stolen the idea. No way now that it's going to be a surpise for Prince.

bastards... and I'm not even in the country! I'm just orging away in my hotel trying to have some fun through my computer screen - it's really not working. I think I may have to go and drink somewhere A LOT> confused confused
If anybody asks you, I belong to Prince....

Well according to sources. Prince reads this site anyway, so he should be ready for 'the sticks' wink

they didn't steal our thunder, they amplified it,

It was truly amazing. walking in there in the dark and seeing how it looked.. breathtaking. really, we'd have pulled off something nice, and we did anyway..-since it's about 100 percent certain that it probably wouldn't have happened without you all getting so enthused about the whole thing...

impossible to be angry in the face of such absolute beauty. Really.

I wish they'd told us so we didn't have to be quite so covert.. still, an amazing effect.

I thought it was a nice gesture, of whoever arranged the glowsticks to be handed out, to join in on the org-idea.

Well said glyn. I think you deserve huge praise for the original idea and the whole implementation of it. As I've written elsewhere our 700 sticks would have been great and seeing the pockets of all the orgers in the best seats would have been funny too but the sheer sight of every tier and block full of purple sticks was breathtaking and will remain as a lasting memory of the tour.

You know on second thoughts about the covertness, actually meeting so many of you (albeit quickly) and bonding between orders people probably wouldn't have happened, and Stu wouldn't have got his ticket and soo many things wouldn't have happened , i am glad they didn't tell us..

also, my post implied that maybe i would get angry, not so.. when i walked in and the lights went off, i was welling up. It was immensely flattering, but mostly it was incredibly, heavenly beautiful.. really, 23,000 stars in the heavens.. shame about(and shame on) the people throwing them of course, but that's such an insignificant detail.

Also all of you who helped organise it deserve an enormous pat on the back, high five, big hug, well done you, nice work team, and a sincerest thanks for letting me be part of it. Without all of your efforts and plans, and saying you'd do things, this likely would never have happened... ALSO thanks to prince.org for making the thread a sticky...

and once again, thanks prince, we KNOW you are out there...

I had 20 glow sticks off of popelife at the Pilot Inn and was concerned that I'd get stopped with them on the way in so I bought the tote bag at the merchandise desk to smuggle them in. Whilst queuing to get into entrance B I saw a box of glow sticks on the desk just inside the entrance and I thought "oh no, they're confiscating glow sticks!" Then I walked in and they gave me a cd and a glow stick. I thought huh? But I would have to say though that although the original idea for the glow sticks was scuppered, it worked out well and seeing the whole arena lit up with purple glow sticks was really something special.

I think that the 20000 people in the o2 last night witnessed somnething that will never be doen again. A true one off idea that unbelievably was extended to include every visitor. Health and safety will intervene to prevent it ever happening again.

And I like that fact... Makes it all the more special. Prince deserved nothing less.

Hi guys, really good to meet you both last night, so pleased to read your little boy had a good time too! I was looking at him every so often during the gig, he looked astonished smile
I totally agree, it was the most beautiful sight when the lights went down. Literally breathtaking and a true one-off as they'll never allow it again. Congratulations to those who put so much effort in, it would never have happened otherwise. clapping
