what happened to Prince's purple guitar?

Hi all just wondered what had happened to it? i was privelaged like most of us to see him more than once. The second night of his shows i saw him play purple rain with it, which was phenomenal! yet the other 3 times i saw him throughout the 21 nights he did not use it? although still amazing! but then he pulled it out on the final show, can anyone confirm what happened it or why he stopped using it? many thanx biggrin

that was a burning question for me as well, he used it on the 28th, during a fantastic version of PR, and we did not see it again till the 21st although I cant confirm if it was used on the 6,9 or 12th, as I didnt see these shows, BTW I like that quote Dan26

it seemed to me that as the shows went on he moved more and more to his hohner guitar...i remember one night the guitar tech trying to give him a different guitar and prince wagging his finger and getting the hohner instead

don't forget that each Guitar has a special meaning , Habibi [The Purple Symbol guitar] comes out for more spiritual songs, Tender Tele for Funk Rock, Blue Angel [when he really wants to connect with hard core fans], the Orange strat and Blue Strat when he wants to rock etc. The guitars are an extension of his mood.
Jesus, i need to get out more!.

I was really surprised the first time i saw him use the hohner for purple rain at the O2 (and really pleased!)...thought it would be a one off, but as it turns out he used it for most of the shows I saw!
