yeah its not great what I've come back to watch(he is but not the quality of the vid and sound) was it the same people who filmed the Aladdin DVD...! Don't think we'll get a DVD with that quality... I want one though to remember the '21 Nights' as they were AMAZING! esp the aftershows!

The Sky broadcast was a joke, and a somewhat shocking one at that.
Not only was the audio horrendous, with people audibly pushing all sorts of buttons to improve it during the broadcast, but the video had an aspect ratio of 4x3 with Sky managing to stretch that for us to 16x9 ... not realizing their mistake untill a few minutes into the thing, at which time they fixed it.

The fact that the video came directly from the projection screen feed, which uses ancient cameras producing last centuries image quality, coupled with Sky News' incredibly low bitrate (this is a budget channel if I've ever seen one) and tacky visuals (hello bright yellow scrolly text saying "NEWS ALERT : PRINCE LIVE FROM THE O2") gave the whole thing a distinct Youtube flavour.

the presentation of it seemed as if we had lost him (sorry to even mention that)..lost as in death (the big bulge lettering across the screen reading.."news alert")..The appraisals and accomplishment factor to the fotage of his final night in london seemed quite earie ..i was expecting more chilled out and electric arrangement from the sky news network team..

I have not been close enough to the cameras to see what they are using. I wonder why they would install such cameras? Why are they not using HD? You can buy a good HD for 4k. I'd have thought that would be standard for a venue as massive and modern as the o2?

I've only seen it on the website, not on a full screen tv so can't really comment about that. Usually when concert DVD's are filmed extra lighting has to be used for this reason, with a compromise between the atmosphere in the arena and the quality of the picture. I guess they didn't go to the extra trouble for a 7min broadcast.
