I have an abcess above my tooth and I should be in bed, the pain is sooo bad, but I cant bare to leave the comp as I'm waiting for tickets.. surely I should get lucky due to my commitment please.....

Try swilling warm water with a little salt aswell,keeping as much as you can close to the tooth. Hope you feel better soon.

ps. Penicillin is the ONLY way to get rid of that bad boy. Get to the dentist and tell them you want a course right now. The pain will be gone by Saturday.

I have found in the past that some locally applied gin can sometimes give a quick-fix pain relief from tootcahe for a short period... though I'm not sure I've ever had an actual abcess so it may be a totally different kettle of fish.

I had one a while ago and got some soluble Solpadeine from the chemist and swilled it around. Short-term relief but it sure did work!

Yep.. agree completely. Anti-biotics are the only thing to get rid of the pain completely. Doctors and dentists will give you a prescription. I had the same when I was in the front row at Wembley Arena for the Gold tour. I was taking 2 types of painkiller and it came and went. A glorious and painful night. Still, I got a wonderful view up Mayte's legs for over 2 hours.
