Am I right in thinking that if I don't get onto the balcony and into my seat that I have a ticket for quickly, I will be standing at the back of the seated area or will I get a seat somewhere whenever I get in?

Seating is free for all on the balcony. The numbers on your ticket dont mean squat

Also I think The view from the Balcony is pretty goo wherever you are. Even when Youa re standing by the bar up there you get a great view.
