I have done this: when the doors open and you get close to the front, you line up on the left of the 3 (4?) ticket scanners. This is meant to be only for people down stairs, but just play ignorant. When you get to the person scanning tickets, she will he/she will scan you and say, you should go upstairs. She will still scan you though. Just say 'yes' and walk on, after a few yards when you are meant to step over the ribbon that keeps upstairs line seperate from the downstairs line, you can just go in to the doors for down stairs, as there are no checks or officials there any longer.

It helps that by the time you pass the scanning person, she is already busy scanning the next person, so she doens't really pay attention. It's more or less guarranteed success, as there are no people checking after the scanning...

Wish I was going... sad

Don't worry mate, I'll be up there too! We can have a party and jump together, I'm sure there'll be enough people downstairs to cushion the fall...

At the last two aftershows they've been scanning people at the point where the two paths are seperated and directing people down the correct one. There were also security guys past the people scanning, so ducking under the rope wouldn't have been possible.

As for jumping, it's always possible but if you aren't in kings row you will have to climb the barrier to that first and I suspect security will spot you quite quickly. lol

Bummer - here I am giving advice how to get downstairs with upstairs tickets, and minutes later someone offered me balcony tickets for 2nite at face value!! I couldn't turn it down, so I am in the same predicament myself now!!

It sounds like they have tightened up the scanning process a bit since I went on Sept 9. We'll have to play it by the ear!

BTW, is there a bar upstairs? And can yo dance?

There's a big bar upstairs and we stood up and danced from our seats for the whole show. There must be at least 400 seats up there and it there was a lot more atmospheric than I anticipated.

The floor is still the place to be though. biggrin

I was upstairs on the 1st Sept and it was pretty good. If you get there early you can get a great seat. I got there a bit late and the central seats had gone. Sat at the back for a few minutes but the view was not that great so headed round to the far left corner and got some seats about 4 rows from the front. Then Prince stood right next to us prior to the gig. Although we were in the left hand corner the view was excellent due to the shape of the venue and he seemed to be pointing towards us the whole gig. So go for a seat near the front rather than a central view near the back. Or get there early!

im thinking i wont b able to blag security, so is it really worth sitting in upstairs seating? im so confused! lol

is the view decent? (i went to the indigo last week, but dont even recall seeing any upstairs seating which is a bit worrying!)

il be able to get there early coz i aint goin 2 the main show - so i take it the best thing to do would be to head 4 the front row seating in the left?

OK IVE RISKED IT AND JUST BOOKED MY TICKETS!! but i have some very reliable inside info that Prince will deffo be performing tonight! but my fingers are still crossed just in case!

The view is fine and there's loads of seating up there, you just can't see it from the floor, where all you can see is kings row. You'll be quite surprised when you see how many seats are actually up there. And don't forget, it's better to be in the seats than not be there at all.

If you're getting there early, head for the front row seating in the middle!

What's the info that you've had regarding tonight?
