On stage at the aftershow - 16/9! Just got back to Brighton after one of, if not THE, best nights of my life!
Went to my third aftershow with my best pal and fellow Org-er "SexyMFdebs" who had her dream come true tonight..... We were right at the front, just to the left of "Mr Security On The Stairs" (the nicest guy in the world) who I chatted with a fair bit before the show. With us were some fellow fans and one poor guy who had been to three aftershows before and each one was a no-show from the main man.... how unlucky is that! The vibe in the crowd wasn't as good as the 28/8 show, but at 1.15 the wicked jams start and there he is and he is in one playful mood tonight.... and he stayed that way all night.... I'll leave the set list to others, but towards the final third of the set, he asks for some dancers on stage.... Shelby heads over to our side, and starts picking the girls our around me.... and I am literally begging her to get Debs up there..... she looks down at me and asks "which one of you?" and I stupidly say "both!"..... and she then picks the girl behind us!! Nightmare!! I tap Mr Security on the shoulder and ask him if he'll let Debs up....and beautifully he says "No problem!" So SexyMFdebs is up on stage shaking it on the far left in a black waistcoat and the two of us are grinning like kids on Christmas morning! A dream come true! Then to make it even better, The Kid walks off high=fiving half the girls, and grabs Debs hand last of all and holds it tight for a couple of seconds. Unbelievable! She'll never wash it again.... Shortly after he makes my night with the Twins, playing Lolita and Black Sweat which lit the place up..... and then the most unbelievable finale..... taking Shelby and her pal through the side doors, through the back of the Indigo (still playing!) up the stairs at the front of the club and appearing at the front of the balcony, torturing the guitar to the baying crowd below.... finally finishing with his arms held high, and then almost deciding to drop the guitar into the audience below, before changing his mind at the last second! Just jaw-dropping stuff.... To round the night off, we chatted with some fellow Org-ers and when heading outside, we noticed a small crowd of people to the left towards the car park. We wandered over and they were waiting for Prince to exit the building.... We hung around for about 40-50 minutes chatting with fellow fans as others slowly filtered away too tired to wait.... .....and then he came out, bypassing his silver Mercedes and wandering over to the 15 or so of us still there! He stopped by three girls on the left and asked whether they were planning on sleeping the night there! Everyone was thanking him and trying to be cool and he was still grinning and seemingly still full of energy! Then into the car behind the blacked out windows, and off back to the hotel... What a night..... suns about to come up, and need my bed, but thinking to myself that somehow this night is never going to be beaten for an experience of a lifetime.... and I wasn't the one dancing on stage! Oh absolutely. We were just saying how easy it's been - hear a rumour here and there that he occasionally comes to the gates. First time we try and he turns up. 5 out of 5 aftershow appearances he's made for the ones we've attended too, each one amazing and different compared to the next. I certainly feel like my luck is due to run out soon. | |

I've lost my voice so I couldn't say much. He just asked what we were all still doing there that late. A few said they were waiting for taxis. My friend said she had to go to work in 2 hours so I just said I had the day off so it didn't matter and that she only lived 5 minutes away. That was about it - sounds lame but he was just really lovely. When he was getting into the car (which had driven up to the gates to get him) after saying goodnights to everyone my friend yelled "play Gold on the last night" - not sure if he heard, but the car stayed there for about 20-30 seconds before driving off. Jonny Boy glad you enjoyed it. I was standing in queue with you and was happy when your friend was pulled up on stage since that is what you wanted. I thought the sound was a little off last night - bit too hissy but hey the most surreal site was watching the twinz walking around the dance floor with a security guy. the said security guy looked a little flustered when the twinz split up. hah hah | |

Hi smoo! The whole evening was a bit surreal!! Feel a bit tired and emotional! Not much I can add other than it was me who grabbed Prince's hand rather than the other way round! Never in a million years did I think Id get that lucky and thanks to my mate(thank you!x!) I did.Evening was brilliant.Girls and Boys and Everyday People I loved.I really felt his personality shone through last night and he seems to be just such a lovely and funny guy. Met some lovely people too last night. I turned 40 this summer and I was absolutely dreading it! Turned out to be the best summer of my life.21 again! Something to tell my grandchildren I hope! That was my last show so Im sad its all over too..can`t imagine watching anyone else at the Indigo! Thank you so, so much Prince!!!  | |

Last night was great thanks to a fellow orger TheEnglishGent and now a good friend getting me a last minute ticket. Prince was truely commical on stage lastnight with his three armed woman and the comment at the main show about his ugly guitar face! Seemed to be alot of pushy people lastnight or maybe I was stood in the wrong place!  bumped into onlywannafeelyouup (think thats his org name Where did you go? Could'nt see you at the end of the night, he saved me from a bloke that was eyeing me up in a very uncomfortable way! At the end of the night a fellow orger Sexymfdebs came over and asked if I was Iceblue, think my height and tattoos gave me away! Thanks for coming over it was lovely to meet you and your friend who I'm assumming is maxwell who started this thread? What time did Prince go over to the gates outside? I walked passed at about 330 and gathered what was happening but did'nt know what time the last boat was to Waterloo so didnt hang around, gee do I wish I had of done now  Oh well can't go back in time, I had a fab night with some great people so I'm a happy  Prince played at the aftershow which was brilliant as I had a doubting feeling that he was'nt going to, and that was my last aftershow Sometimes Life is like the post...You just don't get it! | |

I I was still spinning from the show! We must have just missed you by the gates but I think he came out about 4ish but half the crowd had wandered off by then..... just a really wicked and surreal moment to see him a couple of feet in front of you communicating like Joe Public if that makes sense! Glad you had a great time and it sounds like you owe EnglishGent a couple of beers! | |

i kept getting squeezed over to behind that pillar so moved further back and more central - scanned for you at the end but couldn't find you - i did see whitnail though - he was a happy happy man o and yeah that guy giving you the eye - such an intense stare - was a bit freaky
such an awesome aftershow and the perfect way to celebrate my birthday anyone else spot the twinz in the crowd before the show started? I'm more and more in love with every member of the band (including dancers - in case that isn't clear from 'band') every show I go to. Phenomenal musicians, singers and dancers - just WOW and the constant big grin on Josh's face LOVE HIM haha [Edited 9/17/07 11:27am] i ain't looking for a 1 night stand...

Yeah that bloody pillar, it was wierd how we slowly moved from a reasonable spot to further at the back and practically behind the pillar! It happens without you realising untill you can't see! There was a point when I was having problems seeing and I'm 6"1! Sometimes Life is like the post...You just don't get it! | |

Just read the text now! WooHoo I feel like running around the house and up and down the garden shouting and screaming with excitment.
