Lucky, lucky Londoners Just a thought that has come to me - when I was a kid, I couldn't go to the Prince tours, because they were mostly in London and I lived in Leeds, so I'd watch the tour videos instead. The first gig I got a ticket for was Blenheim Palace. I was SO ecstatic when my mum said I could go on the coach with my friend (and we all know how that turned out). By the time I was 17 my Mum was cool with me going to gigs with friends and we got the coach to Birmingham to see the Nude tour - errr twice in two days (lol sound familiar?)
I've lived in London for 13 years now, and I don't always appreciate it - the hustle, bustle, stress, expense and coldness that you experience can really wear you donw - BUT... I am so grateful that London is my home town now and I have been able to go to as many of the gigs as I wanted. All thanks to Prince for really taking care of us fans and giving us so many shows. I'm only sorry that people who don't live in London have had to go to much more expense and effort to traverse the country, nay even Europe!, to be at the gigs...but wow - it just goes to show how far people will travel for a GUARANTEED funky time... Love isn't love until it's passed | |
