Controversy is far more enjoyable if you do the robotic dance along with The Twinz. Haha. Have been doing the dance with gc79 at all the recent shows. Hehe. lol

You are so right I was not a fan of the twins but after my daughter gushed about how fantastic they are and started doing the robitic dance to Controversy I couldnt help but to be converted and to join along too.

It really is not easy to put in that much energy every show, it's very demanding physically and I can assure you, those girls are working out and warming up hours before the show starts.
And aesthetically, I think they are very good dancers. A perfectly choreographed dance troupe looks good for about 30 secs on a music video until you realise that they're all just going through the motions. These girls put a lot into their moves, it's more than just shaking it, you have to completely let go in your head. And they are there to add a little extra spice to the funky numbers, Prince is up there by himself plenty.
I used to dance somewhat when I was younger (a little bit embarrased about it now, and a little bit proud too smile ) and I think they're just fab. Cat and Mayte were better though biggrin
And the robot walk during Controversy? Love it, every time. (ps I am male btw)

I have to admit I was impressed when I saw them do the guitar bit with their leg and then the splits, etc - they are agile little things alright! They dont bother me, but this may seem mean, but they seem a little short on personality, or something. I mean if they didnt show up would any of us really worry?!!

Cat has presence and I would have loved to have seen her live back in the day, then again the first time Prince came to Ireland was 1990 and there was no more Cat or Sheila E, boohoo!!! sad

I have been loving the twinz more and more with each show... it has been great to see their routines from different places around the arena.

While I guess they are essentially "eye candy and backing vox" or whatever, I am loving their stuff.

I will always remember the first time I saw them.. a friend of mine (not a fan) in the US was sending me messages while watching Prince doing Fury on SNL as she knew I was nuts about all things Princely... and she said something to the effect of, "I don't know the song but the dancers are seriously grooving out!". It has been great to see them groove about in the flesh this summer. cool
Eye like pretty things, and u're just as pretty as u can b...

That bit at the start of Controversy when they wear furry jackets and march down the pointy bit like toy soldiers....uuuuuggggghhhhh

Or is it just me?

The 'robotic' dance the Twinz do at the start of Controversy is a cultural reference to the old skool era when the track was originally released.

I can't see it appealing to anyone under the age of 30.

Personally I love it and think the Twinz add a huge amount of excitement & entertainment value to the concerts.

I was sat next to some very dumpy overweight woman last night and could hear them occasionally bitch about them.

Sour grapes.... bored

I'm over 30...it doesn't appeal to me either!!..... rest of the dancing fine...specially cream etc etc..they add something, but during controversy...would be better if they sat down...only my opinion

I don't take much notice of them to be honest - I'm always too busy ogling Prince.

Know what you mean, I can't take my eyes off him for longer than about 5seconds at a time, so haven't paid too much attention to the eye candy.
(Trying to get as many mental images of him in my mind as poss before he goes back across the sea sad )

The Twins are top flight and enhance the spectacle in their own unique way.
