Prince at The Pigalle Club last night?

Anyone go to the Pigalle Club in Picadilly last night? Mike Phillips played, and was great - though not being a jazz/sax aficionado, not sure I appreciated him as much as I "should". Anyhow, I had to leave around 11pm... apparently Prince turned up at midnight, and jammed on stage with the house band - and also with some guys who'd done some phenomenal beatboxing earlier in the evening... I also heard that Prince had been at an end-of-tour wrap party earlier in the evening... so maybe the signs are good for P turning up at aftershow on 21st after all...

[This info is from a friend of a friend - as I say, I had to leave midway through Mike P's set - but I'd say he's pretty reliable...]

No, sorry - three young guys from Tottenham, I think. One of them had a guitar. Didn't catch the name.

According to the London Paper he has been out clubbing in London several times a week since he arrived. He's been photographed a few times but mostly slips under paparazzi radar. The article said his fave place to drop in on was Chinawhite. I'm assuming he'll stop going now the paper has said that! It's been so great having him in London, it'll be awful when he goes back home sad

it has been printed a few times he has gone to chinawhite and since then he has gone back so doubt it will stop him he may have been photographed leaving before and we havent seen it cos his aiming with the umbrellas might have improved so he was hidden and with out a good pic there is no point saying the story

and yeah its gonna be horrid when he has gone neutral he should come and live in funky london lol

Chinawhite? Oh Prince, I'm so disappointed. Have fun hanging out with Jodie Marsh, Big Brother rejects and the Hollyoaks cast? lol

Yeah, ouch, China White!? I suppose he's less likely to get hassled by fans there, but still... not really where it's going on.

If he's looking for a band to sit in with, he should head to the Troubadour in Earls Court on the 22nd. The UK's most acclaimed young blues player is doing a fairly rare London show. See:

I gave up my O2 tickets for the 31st (102 row D as well!) to go to Matt's 30th birthday gig at the 100 Club. Totally amazing.

100 Club is OK. He should have hired out the balcony at the Jazz Cafe in Camden or something. Maybe Chinawhite is the least likely place to find a Prince fan, so that's why disbelief

Yeah I went with some friends and Prince did turn up
They cleared the upstairs when he arrived, dressed all in black
It was a brilliant night, such talent on stage with several singer/musician changes, including a female vocalist from Basement Jaxx
Mike's act started before 11pm and ran through right to 2am

Actually maybe I should move to the US. Their fast food tastes like shit so I'd probably be a health freak.

[grin] don't they have a specific 'no Big Brother rejects' rule?!

prince was there, but whilst he did "play", he didn't perform. we just hung out at the bar drinking beers and playing darts whilst mike played in the basement

a cool nite was had by all. the place was full of posers, and thats rich coming from me. and it was a monday nite. six people were wearing sunglasses after midnite in the dark, in the basement of a club. and they didn't have white sticks or dogs with them
