I was hoping for another 28th August, but it was still one of the best aftershows so far, so very pleased! The 28th won't be "beaten/bettered/equalled", I think - ever. I'm just glad that all the Aftershows are so different that there is no way to really compare one to the other! Musicology/ Prince and the band/funky london No doubt i missed one or two. Oh my god. How can i sleep? Renato started with The Dance. Also, Marva sang "Who is she and what is she to you". I just loved that Musicology jam at the end - breaking it all down, layering it all up again. Very different to the other aftershow I went to (think that one was marginally better). Seemed a little darker and more experimental last night. Great night. Thanks Prince. You really are spoiling us here. We're totally loving it. Thank you.

Oh dear Get home safe. I didn't say that! LOL!! When I posted earlier I was already back home. Now at work..it's going to be a looong day! Forgot to ask earlier. I'm always surprised how people can bear to leave with that vibe, that music, that energy going on. Not ten horses could drag me away! I went to show and A'show yesterday so had about 3 hours sleep, been working all day and then straight back to the O2. But as soon as Prince plays i feel completely energised, wide awake and so so happy! I was already feeling ill before a-show and had a sore back and felt like crap. There were times I wanted to get out of the crowd and sit down but then he did "The One" so I thought I'd hold on and listen to that... then Misty Blue... and the next song... next thing I knew, I'd made it through the whole night. Hurrah!

Awwwee... but I'm definitely taking advantage of living so close to the venue. I don't know what I'd do if I had to trek across turn in the dead of night after each aftershow. Ouch! (BTW: It's Woo here)

We were just saying, we're all suffering from the back-to-back A'show syndrome! (Not yet, but I will be when at work tomorrow. I mean today. Anyway, who cares?!) [Edited 9/13/07 21:37pm] 8.30 start for me this morning- and ya know what? I'm ten million times livelier than most of my colleagues- I've even had compliments on how well I look!! Also, anyone else see him at gates last night? He got driver to turn around & drove up real close to gate, wound down window and gave is a massive grin, few waves & peace sign? Apologies if already been posted....!

LiveToLove said: Tonight was all about the paaaarty! Although it started quite psychedelic/spiritual with Prince playing some very introverted quiet riffs and strangely wonderful sounds. It made me think of G-D and a journey in outer space. But then things soon funked up. I think he started with Around the World. There was loads of other wonderful, old stuff, someone please post a set list. Come Together was a highlight for me. Very extended with the crowd doing "Come Together. Yean" for a long time and Prince talking about the state of the world and coming together.
But even better was when Shelby sang Love is a confusing game (I much prefer O2's new title to the original one!). Prince was off stage but then came back on, just raised both hands and screamed, then went off again. Then came on again, shaking his head, occasionally screaming - ok, I'm not describing this very well but basically, it looked like it was too much for him. He was feeling it too much and his heart couldn't contain the emotion. You know, being at that stage were your heart bursts - no words, no dance, no nothing can express what you're feeling. I've been feeling that way quite a lot recently during the shows and he looked like he was expressing just that. Then at the end a very extended, very funky Musicology where people were asked on stage to dance! Hadn't seen that during the aftershows as yet! Was thinking earlier that this hasn't happened for a while during main shows so maybe this is transferring now - in which case, near the two little staircases that lead up on stage is the place to be! Shelby asked people up on the right and the man himself asked people on the left! [Edited 9/13/07 21:26pm] it was an awesome nite, the main concert was great,,but the aftershow...wow...the man was on rare form..you could tell from the main gig that he was up for it tonite...words cant discribe how good it was,so i wont try..it was siomply WWWWOOOOOWWWWW

I thought Renato's intro was Somewhere Here On Earth but the amount of notes he fits in it could have 3 or 4 tunes all at once!
And we got tambourine and cowbell action, Prince aiming to whip Shelby's bum with his towel, guitar, guitar, guitar! and much too much 4 my sleep deprived mind to remember even now! So...until the 21st! We ain't from Hollywood, so you know it's all good

Incredible! Thee aftershows are so good now that i find it impossible to compare them. Obviously the 28th was somethings special (an understatement!), but the shows with the full band are just awesome too!
Got back form London a while ago, and I still have Prince and The Band totally stuck in my head! love it. I hope he meant what he implied at the end when he told us all to tune in next week to the same prince Show, same Prince Channel (is that right?), ie that he WILL be playing next week's Aftershows. I am 5 for 5 so far and would love a complete set! OH/HEY FUNKY LONDON!!!!! [Edited 9/14/07 5:26am] Eye like pretty things, and u're just as pretty as u can b...

I knew you'd be knackered this morning, but I see last night's experience has also left you damn near speechless It was great to bump into you and the gang, couldn't have hoped for a nicest bunch of people for company at the queue before getting into the Indigo2 (pity we were separated afterwards). And yes, last night absolutely counts as one of the greatest aftershows Prince has ever played. "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

Fuck the sleep... we got to the hotel on monday morning at 5 and had to leave soon after! But being in London I would probably also go crazy enough to try to see es much main shows as possible! Paisley Park completely passed me by though. Considering that Around The World In A Day is probably my favourite album I can't believe I missed it! RIP
