Y'all, I've almost recovered from the three days in London, I already expressed some views in some other threads, now it's my time for a lenghty review. I won't bother you with tracklists (i wouldn't be able to make an orderly one, the shows were so different every evening!), but with emotions.
I already told you extensively about first nite. Second gig was another fantastic experience, with a superb version of AnnaStesia! Afternoon's soundcheck was OBVIOUSLY an unforgettable one, you should already know why
And when Prince on friday night said "this afternoon I had the pleasure to listen to some NPGMC members singing" you can imagine I was in heaven, right there!
About third night chaps...what a superb one!!! Soundcheck included an unexpected DMSR which rocked! After sundcheck I wasn't feeling very well, I was very tired but so happy about everything. and when the first song of the show started, every pain was forgotten!Me and my friends were front row for the third time (no queue cutting, we were on line from early morning every day! ) and danced all night long.
During The Work Prince arranged a dance contest and picked up (again!) our good Toto saying "This guy danced on the first night", and when he asked him where he was from and the answer was "Italy!" he looked surprised. He then asked his name and started a dance competition with another guy (another good dancer, I have to say!). Toto was runner up again, just because instead of dancing as Prince asked ("do what i do", he said) he started some fantastic breakdancing! We were in front row shouting: "Don't do this, copy him!!" but he couldn't hear! It was fun, but Prince was impressed all the same and gave toto a big five!
That was not the only highlight of the evening. We damced all nite and Prince looked at us several times and also came our way t play a guitar solo.
During Everlasting now he pointed at us (me, Toto and Daniele) that were jumping as hell and said "There is a party over there!There is a party over there!There is a party over there! You know what guys You should try to bring that party over here! Come on stage!" so we three plus a couple of others from the first row got on stage and..wow!!! He said :"Toto, come here, mime guitar playing" during the Souls Sacrifice solo! Me and Dani danced right behind Prince and it was FUN! When Everlating Now reprised he told us : "Show everybody how to jump up and down!" and we did it!!!
But it ain't over yet folks: after the superb acoustic set, during Peach he picked up another italian girl from the opposite side, and she made a very good dancing too!
Before the finale "Alphabet Street " jam he daid: "I want the ten best dancers here on stage" then he pointed Toto and said "Toto, you gotta come!". You can imagine Toto's face, he thought "I'm gonna die on stage tonight! Too much dancing!" And it ain't over, as I raised my hand and asked him if also me and Dani could come he pointed at me and made a THUMB UP! S here we are on stage again, this time with forty people! What I party! I was the fool in purple shirt dancing close to Prince while he was singing on the piano! Could you imagine this years ago? My memory went back to 1988 when I wanted to go and see Prince live in Milan and my parents didn't allow me as I was only 14 years old (I took my revenge in Nice 1990, anyway!) and im my bedroom I listened to Lovesexy dreaming of meeting Prince...now I was on stage, I sung with him the previous night, I met him on thurday and shook hands...is this a dream!
Anyway, Alphabet Street was fun! During the song I approached Renato (which I met at the second afterparty) and he recognized me , laughed and shook hjands. At the end I was totally wet with sweat, I approached Candy, she was a bit reluctant (too sweat, I know! ...) but then smiled and shook hands.
Shall I talk about the afterparty? Shall I talk about that marvellous version of Sign of the times? I was too tired during the aftershow(thirst hirst thirst), unfortunately I didn't feel very well so I couldn't jump and cheer, but I enjoyed it and I thank God it lasted just 40 minutes, otherwise I would have fainted.
My first aftershow anyway, another dream came true, after 10 concerts all around Europe!

Wha to say at the end? It was well worth to come all the way to London.
A big hug to all those who were with us, a big hello to the Dutch man with an headache - you know who you are - , the other italians, the spanish chica and all the nice queue organizers - the photographer especially
A big laugh at some line cutters organizing a sit in...you childish folks! Be fair next time

Always remeber if you ever come to London: avoid Boka Hotel, forever!

Last note: Hammersmit is a place full of history, a fab theatre, I don't think there will ever be a better place to see Prince, but you never know...as someone says "mai porre limite alla distruzione"! That is: "you never know what other funky fabtastic things can happen!"

I had people stopping me at the airport...mad experience man, mad experience! Glad I'm back to normal life no, not true!
I met great people during these days, lots of new italian and foreign friends. Wonderful memories, soo good!

Talk about making use of the full stage - you were all over it like a rash!

Thank you for making the night a true classic - your contribution was the funniest & funkiest I have seen. It's great to see somebody having a really good time and entertaining everybody.
