LiveToLove said: SO many highlights!
B4 show started, Elton John and David Furnish clearly didn't mind being seen standing by the pointy bit of the symbol (to the left if you're in front of it)! My neighbour asked, Is Elton the support act tonight? He was not so wrong after all! I don't even like Elton John much but it was an undoubted highlight to see him share the stage with Prince. A melange of two very different styles, perfectly blended. It struck me how totally undaunted Prince was. I'm not sure who's the bigger star (Elton here, Prince in the States?) but this was clearly his house and nothing and nobody could ever chnage that. Like he said a few nights ago, "I don't care who came b4 me, I don't care who comes after me, This is my house!" Shelby joining on Love is a losing game (AND a very confusing one good one, O2!). Again the two so different voices so perfectly synchronised! And the way she appeared out of nowhere and then vanished into nothing again afterwards (well, that's what it looked like from where I was). Lights off so early, at 8.40! Masses of people where I was (Bk 106, row AA) getting completely caught out not being in their seats! That made for a great atmosphere as they just filled all available space and started wooping and clapping right whereever they were! It took more than half an hour for the walkways to clear. The way he was joping with the crowd - "Shall I play SOTT - no... If I was your... no, no. Raspberyy Beret?Hmmm, I don't think so. London! We've run out of hits! That's it, we're done, good night!" Haha. "Oh... oh no, wait a minute, there is this ONE... " (launches Kiss). Did the same b4 synthesiser bit at the end and then played TWO verses of SOTT! ALL of that PLEEEEASE! And again prolonged solo on Guitar, I so love that song and it solos soooo rocked. Shh and If I was Ur Girlfriend both absolutely great versions. He did them b4 of course but not yesterday I think (memory bit blurred right now) but they are two of my favourites... London, I got too many highlights! Wow...I was there and this little review is spot on. Nicely written.

Fantastic show tonight. Ninth one for me now and after a bit of burnout around 6/7 I've loved the last 2 as much as any of them. Took my mum tonight as thanks for all the baby sitting she's been doing for us over the last couple of months. She loved it and even cried during Sometimes It Snows In April. For somebody only attending one show, I don't think we could have had it any better. She's also a massive Elton John fan and has seen him live a few times, so it was almost fate that this be the show I take her to.
We actually spotted Elton as soon as he entered the arena. I was pointing out where the band come in from when a load of people started coming out. I said, "Oh look, here's some of the entoura.... F*** me, it's Elton John!!!." Then he walked round and sat in the purple seats on the squiggle side of the stage. We had good sight of him and he thoroughly enjoyed the show. Bopping his head and singing along too. Gave good applause and seemed to be genuinely having a great time. He even got off his stool to give P a standing ovation after Purple Rain. Took mum to the aftershow too and while there was no Elton, we did get a further performance from Prince which clocked in at just under two hours. All in all a fantastic night. Just need some sleep now. Nearly 5am, work at 9 and only 3 hours sleep after the aftershow last night! RIP

I was sure I wasn't going tonight, then I found myself working in London for a few days.....whats a guy on his own supposed to do!?!?! Excellent, good to see your self imposed ban Is serving its sentence well I know what you mean about the set list but think this is a reflection of how many times u have been. I had six first timers there last night and they all loved it. This is the sort of show/set list/energy/performance you would want if you were only going the once. the guitar is the best instrument in the world!

Hi Mr. 02 *waves* The look on his face when he stared at us when playing Darling Nikki was creamifying! (And then teased us further by wearing shimmery tight trews with no underwear. THE WANG!!! )

What a show! Elton coming on to sing TLAWR was such a treat. Prince played a bit of Benny & The Jets during the synth set too!
The final encore was electric. A Love Bizarre was great in the full house lights. I nearly fell onto the woman in front of me when Chelsea Rodgers started up as I was going mental. I'd been waiting to hear this for such a long time! Shopping is not a sport!

I'd been waiting for Chelsea Rogers too. They are green with envy! I am really hoping I can get tickets for the final night now.

GC79 said: Wasn't Chelsea great? I finally got converted to Chelsea Rodgers last night. Never liked it before, but there was something about last nights performance of it that got me going. I think it was probably down to the fact that I was utterly convinced they'd finished and was hyped up by them coming back for more after so long.
Thinking about it more, they could have probably played Jughead and Life Of The Party for that last intro and I'd still have loved it. RIP

With regard to Prince and his underwear, many years ago my brother and I were going to see him at Wembley - can't recall which one but it was the one after Lovesexy in 1988. Anyway, we had tickets at the back of the arena so took a gigantic pair of binoculars with us. Outside Wembley we bumped into Eileen Murton (of Controversy - anybody remember her?) and she swapped her FRONT ROW tickets with ours. So there we were in the front row of Wembley Arena watching Prince - so what do we do with our binoculars? Look at Prince's IT through them. And I can assure everybody, we got a very good look and he does not appear to wear underwear at all. Reading that back I feel like a right perv now!

I love the song Do Me Baby and when I joined I entered it as a user name but it said I couldn't have it I didn't want to have anything else so I just put a 69 at the end of it. I don't know why that number came to me at that time but it accepted it so I went with it.
