I was wrong before! THIS surely was the best night so far!!! Possibly EVER!!! If the 21st could possibly be any better I may die from 1000 massive heart attacks while he's still playing! The crowd and him were perfetcly synchronised tonight, he and us, we were all so up for it tonight, it was unbelievable! I'm gonna take 5 and then try to post something that makes sense and has fewer exclamation marks!!!

Long wait for full band back on stage with houselights up

A love bizarre
Full stage lights back on half way through the track

Chelsea rogers (p on piano)

Looks like that is properly it. The girls behind tell me prince wasn't wearing any underwear which was their contribition, bless.

SO many highlights!
B4 show started, Elton John and David Furnish clearly didn't mind being seen standing by the pointy bit of the symbol (to the left if you're in front of it)! My neighbour asked, Is Elton the support act tonight? wink

He was not so wrong after all! I don't even like Elton John much but it was an undoubted highlight to see him share the stage with Prince. A melange of two very different styles, perfectly blended. It struck me how totally undaunted Prince was. I'm not sure who's the bigger star (Elton here, Prince in the States?) but this was clearly his house and nothing and nobody could ever chnage that. Like he said a few nights ago, "I don't care who came b4 me, I don't care who comes after me, This is my house!"

Shelby joining on Love is a losing game (AND a very confusing one wink good one, O2!). Again the two so different voices so perfectly synchronised! And the way she appeared out of nowhere and then vanished into nothing again afterwards (well, that's what it looked like from where I was).

Lights off so early, at 8.40!
Masses of people where I was (Bk 106, row AA) getting completely caught out not being in their seats! That made for a great atmosphere as they just filled all available space and started wooping and clapping right whereever they were! It took more than half an hour for the walkways to clear.

The way he was joping with the crowd - "Shall I play SOTT - no... If I was your... no, no. Raspberyy Beret?Hmmm, I don't think so. London! We've run out of hits! That's it, we're done, good night!" Haha. "Oh... oh no, wait a minute, there is this ONE... " (launches Kiss). Did the same b4 synthesiser bit at the end and then played TWO verses of SOTT! ALL of that PLEEEEASE!

And again prolonged solo on Guitar, I so love that song and it solos soooo rocked. Shh and If I was Ur Girlfriend both absolutely great versions. He did them b4 of course but not yesterday I think (memory bit blurred right now) but they are two of my favourites... London, I got too many highlights!

Encores with houselights on are another highlight. The synthesiser bit tonight was very much part of the 'planned' encores (ok, it's probably all planned, but yesterday those were done with the houselights on which always feels like a reward for us having made enough noise for long enough - something extra-extra). The playfulness on the synthesiser works extremly well as an encore, it's a fixture now, it seems. That makes me happy!
If he had a cold then, certainly in terms of energy and voice, he held nothing back.

Ok review time rather than just set list update,

Most of my views are encompassed in the last review so will just add bits on top.

Overall the show ROCKED, no funky set tonight, this was more a rock concert and was splayed with the passion to match. Elton was good but I thought looked a little lost looking to prince for leads in what to do next. I bet he plays the aftershow though and I bet it is amazing but I have work tomorrow so not going boohoo

Guitar again was amazing. Piano set tonight was tops, more of I cabt get you out of my head than previously, chelsea rogers at the end a highlight of course.

Crowd around us were great, was fun dancing with the girls behind, hi girls smile apologies to the woman next to me who I accidnentally jumped on her toe during the housequake chant.

Overall crowd really lively and prince obv enjoyed this and played accordingly. Rows a to e on my left in 102 were partying hard all night - were these all orgers too?

Overall not the best show I've seen but only 1 or 2 have been better. He is definately increasing his energy now as we push through to the end.

Signing out

Considering that Elton has been going since the 1970's and is still quite a draw in both the UK and USA for album sales he may just sneak it as to who is the biggest star but as for who is the most talented or musically gifted then Prince wins hands down.

Just got back to my hotel. Show was ok. Apart from Elton it was the most uninspired set yet....but I think that means I've been too many times.

I was sure I wasn't going tonight, then I found myself working in London for a few days.....whats a guy on his own supposed to do!?!?!

He teased with Soft and Wet and a whole load of Darling Nikki! Quite a long bit but no vocals.

During the earlier piano segment he played a long instrumental of Under The Cherry Moon! I just couldn't believe my ears!
