cheap car parks that are safe

how do you get to car park 4 and is it always cheap? last time we got to O2 with little time as driving up from Surrey after work and so ended up in Car park 1 again as we couldn't find entrance to car park 4, how do you get into it? Also this time we just dont have the spare cash to fork out £20 for car park 1 again. If you get there with little time to spare before gig, is car park 4 full and holiday inn car park? whats best folks?

Cheers for any replies

Hi Aymi,

To get to car park 4 approaching from the south (which you will be coming from brighton) you drive up past car park 1 which is on your right hand side. Carry on up and the next right hand turn is for car park 2 and car park 4. Car park 4 is described as "staff car park" and later they add "cinema" car park on the sign. Follow the signs and you will reach the car park which is actually the closest car park to the O2 right next to the main entrance. Its never been full the 5-6 times ive used it and is always £5. Ive never been asked if im going to the concert but if you are just say no you want to check out a film and get something to eat. Add something like "prince isnt playing again is he" for effect wink

Thanks for the info 02. Is there a limit though on how long you can park in car park 4? For example, on the 21st I'll be getting there about 4 in the afternoon and leaving after the aftershow. I can't see myself getting away with that for a fiver!

Excellent! Well I've already booked at a total cost of £22.30 thru Ticketmaster for this Sunday's show but I haven't pre-booked parking for the 21st so I'll use car park 4 for that. Thanks!

I have to say I cant recommend driving though. The show is much better enjoyed with a glass of wine pre show and then a couple of pints main show smile

Obv a friend driving is perfectly acceptable cool

I'm teetotal so always drive everywhere. However, I only have a two seater car so can only carry one other. Otherwise, always happy to play chauffeur.

I parked in 4 last night. There was a guy by the barriers asking everyone what they were going in for. I just said I was meeting a friend for dinner. He rolled his eyes with that, 'yeah right', look on his face and waved me in. lol Left after the aftershow at about 2:45am and paid my fiver. Can't believe that they make the arena parking such a rip off. Cheers to Aliuk1 for the heads up on this car park.

I arrived at about 7:15pm last night and there were loads of spaces left.

Might I also suggest that you don't pull up with Prince pumping out of the stero. That might raise a few more questions for you to answer. biggrin
RIP sad

How do you actually pay? Do you get a card on the way in and then put it in a machine on the way out?

Oh.. ok - in that case perhaps it was a different car park. We were told to use the North Greenwich Tube Station car park - it was £6....

I drove up from Brighton last thurs used car park 4 thanks to org advice. No probs at all. Must admit the thought of not having a rather nice glass of Pino Grigio Blush in the Indigo was not good.. but its quite easy drive back and I was full of energy ofter 6/9 aftershow!

Use North Greenwich station car park. Costs £6 during the week and £3 at the weekend.

That's a good weekend price but carpark 4 is cheaper in the week at £5.

The way I drive in is (coming from the south)

Rather than going left at the big roundabout (towards car park 1 and the station car park) go straight ahead. Turn left at the next turning and continue on until the traffic lights. At the t junction turn right. Car park 4 is a short distance on your left.

I saw the parking guy there last night but he didn't stop me and ask me what I was seeing. Perhaps going the way I did confused him! lol
