So I assume they'll take two cheques then. A personal one for face value and a second one made payable to the designated charity. What do you think the chances of that are?

Im really tempted to name names on this 1, I sold 2 x F3 front row tickets to a fellow orger for the last night at what I paid for them. I could have waited and sold them for "charity" once they were released to general sale as gold circle tickets (£235) each. But no they were sold for face values plus fees. Shame the "charity" missed out on this opportunity.

I have to say that I was forced to buy some of my tickets on ebay when I was desperate to go to a concert and no tickets were forthcoming. I paid £125.00 plus postage - these people might have done the same in the past and are trying to recoup what they paid out. If the tickets had been released to proper fans this time around, as they were in the past, this may never have happened. Mind you, I suppose all fans aren't as honest. I let some of my aftershow tickets for 21st September go to someone I met in the hotel for what I had paid for them plus postage!!! Hope they didn't end up on ebay!!!

If you have sold a ticket to a fellow orger at face value and they have then sold that ticket on ebay for a profit that is absolutely disgusting. I made sure the orger I sold my spares to for the 21st (aymi) was going to be using the tickets herself.

I have agreed with the orger who bought my spares to meet on the day, think that was the best way. Im still after 1 aftershow as a fellow orger has promised me 1 for the 21st but mrsweaver need 1 too.

I wonder why you think it so bad that someone would do this? I was badly picked on yesterday by fellow orgers just for mentioning that I might sell my tickets...I myself consider the treatment I got yesterday far worse a deed!

Not wanting to start it all up again as yesterday, but I think you'll find that you got "picked on" because it was posted on here that tix were for sale on the 21st - there are a number of orgers on here absolutely desperate for tix on the 21st and pretty much as soon as you got them from Ticketmaster you posted on here that you might put them on ebay to pay for your summer holiday. Surely you can understand why people got pissed off at that?

I got my tickets for the 21st from a fellow Orger as well, at face value, and I'm very grateful indeed to her. I think she was a little bummed that they are now going for stupid prices but I assured her there's no way I'm selling my tickets, and even if I did I would only do so for face value to another true fan....but the only thing that is going to stop me getting to the O2 on 21st is the end of the world!!!! (touch wood that's not gonna happen!)

I do think its out of order that there are people who have snapped up tickets with the sole intention of selling them for profit, when there are real genuine fans who actually want to see Prince and can't get hold of tickets. We don't all have big bank balances to stump up the cash on Ebay for an over-priced tickets!! To the profit seekers:- next time, leave the tickets alone for those who actually want to go to the gig!

I offered two of my tickets to a fellow orger for 21st September - he replied that he wanted three, which I hadn't got, so I still have them until I find out whether it will be possible for me to go or not.

My brother had two tix for the 21st which he bought when they very first went on sale. Then about 5 weeks ago Ticketmaster put some out for sale on their website and I bought 2. I immediately phoned my brother asking if he wanted to come with me and as my 2 were better than his 2 (!) he said he would. But straight away on seeing a posting on here by an orger I emailed him and offered him the 2 tickets which he is so grateful for. We're now meeting him on the 21st. My brother also got some aftershow tickets for the 21st and straight away offered them to the same guy who is having his main show 21st tickets. Another two orgers have also had after show tickets from us and all have paid/will pay no more than what they cost us in the first place. Just knowing that we've made these people happy is reward enough for us.

If seriously selling for charity they can use the Ebay for Charity scheme and list their item as being sold for charity, with the money going directly to the charity via Ebay surely?

That is good to hear.....its nice knowing that, despite the goings-on on Ebay there are some Orgers helping out fellow Orgers still. I believe I still owe TheMellowOne a large drink at the bar for hooking me up with my tickets!! Roll on the 21st!!!!! biggrin biggrin

Sadly, eBayers cashing in on popular gigs is becoming all too familiar. Just wait for the ridiculout sums they'll be charging for the on-off Led Zeppelin gig coming up at O2.

All I can say is that I'm really really grateful to the 3 orgers who sold me tickets at face value.

Hi Dave wave

Yes I'm bummed that they're selling for such an extortionate price on ebay but only because I need 2 more aftershow tickets for my boyf's best mate who is coming to the main show on a visit from Oz (long time fan so perfect timing!) As well as those I sold to you, I sold two more too because I managed to get fanclub tickets for the main show for us all. Shame they're in crappy F1! Still, at least we're going.

So I'm desperately searching for 2 aftershow tickets for our friends, because I have done my good deed and am now left with the stress of possibly having to pay a fortune to get two more!

Hmmm, the other person I sold the two tickets to never did come back to say thanks for them - I wonder if they've been sold on ebay? Dave, you will have to ask the peeps you are sitting next to at the gig where they got their tickets from - if that person DID sell them on ebay, I will be naming and shaming after the event!!!

It's market forces. If people are willing to pay over the odds for tickets then there will be plenty of people willing to sell to them.

And we'd also be stupid to think that there aren't those registered on here who buy up tickets at face value then sell them on ebay etc at a higher price.

Just checked my ebay and I must have sold about ten lots of tickets and you know why? because Ticketmaster sold the rubbish ones at first and then weeks later I bought really good ones so that is not making a profit but was a necessity - got some on at the moment which I paid over the odds for and have now got better ones that were released yesterday - does that make me a ticket tout - I think not!!! sad

When people are forced to buy tickets at ridiculous agency prices it's understandable if they need to sell them again at similarly inflated prices instead of here at face value. I don't think that's *so* bad. It's the agencies I really dislike... they serve no purpose other than to make money for themselves... and all at no risk, since they're allowed to return unsold tickets.

(Although I agree, there are lots of people cashing in purely to make some easy money. I'd like to believe there's only a small number of orgers doing this).

If TM would just use their brains, cut out the agencies, and allow returns when the event sells out, all this could be avoided.

If you sell tickets to an orger, I think it's a good idea to do the exchange at the O2 on the day, then you can be sure they won't end up on ebay. Although I would try to get payment for them in advance if possible... I was stung by an orger that agreed to take a spare ticket, then bought last-minute floor seats from TM and texted me at 5pm to tell me she didn't want mine any more. Result - empty seats in 102 row G and me suddenly £70 poorer. What a waste.

They key is - if you're able to go yourself on the night you sold the tickets for - to meet the purchaser at the venue at 7 p.m. or something to do a handover. That way it would be too late to put them on ebay.

The tickets my brother and I have sold to fellow orgers - although we trust them implicitly - will not be handed over until the 21st, when we'll all meet up together at the 02.

Hey Helen!! biggrin How's you?? Did the move go well??

The other aftershow ticket and concert ticket I purchased went to a very good home. Turns out my fiancee's boss's sister is a huge fan and was over the moon when her sister said she had tickets for her. Of course, she had the tickets off me for face value, and I've exchanged a couple of texts with her about the show. She's even more excited than I am, so I think there's zero chance of her selling the tickets on herself...if she does I'll be having some strong words myself, as I've already made it clear that if she can't make it the tickets are to come back to me, and you'll be first port of call for them.

I think this is a very good point, I know of a couple of people who panic bought tickets for 20th and 21st from ebay and then were lucky enough to get tickets released recently. They can't afford to let the tickets go at face value so their only option is to put them on ebay.

I do think the touts (who have masses of tickets for sale) are evil and should be dealt with, as should the secondary ticket agencies who are advertising tickets for ridiculous prices.

I think the only way round this is for ebay to stop letting people sell tickets on there, but I cant see this happening myself.
