I took my Nepthew for his 14th Birthday, it was a birthday surprise for him as he had no idea about it, well not until he opened his Bday card and out flopped his ticket! His jaw nearly hit the floor!!

He loves Prince, he's got good taste in music, just like his dear old uncle razz
I have tasted fantastical places...

My two year old asked me today if he could go and see Prince. I told him that he couldn't and he asked if Prince was going to come and see us. I've been going so often that he now thinks Prince is one of my friends. Can't blame him though, I've seen Prince a hell of a lot more than I've seen my friends lately. lol
RIP sad

Well as i said in a few other threads lol Brought my eldest son 2 his 1st Prince concert in 2002 for the ONA Tour at The Point Depot in Dublin when he was 15. This time arround had both my sons at The 02 Arena on the nite off the 24th August. My 12 yr old is such a big fan.(from b4 birth lol )
B4 he was born we played TMBGITW lots. So after he was born & ever got upset mad the only thing that could console him was playing PRINCE's Most Beautiful Girl In The World biggrin
Anyways next day (25th) My 12 yr old said "Dad u fancy going 2 c Prince 2nite again, sure we will only b sitting in the hotel room 2nite anyways".
So later that afternoon off we went 2 the 02 ticket office & luckily got our 2 tix 4 that nites show. We got great seats near stage at Block 111 Row F.
Unbelievably Prince was even better that nite !!!!!

I took my daughter to see Prince on the 1st and then to the aftershow. She's 16 and I reckon she really enjoyed it. She has been to V with us for the last two years and she's been to see Lost Prophets, Chemical Romance and the like. It's funny as she likes similar music to what I did at her age (I loved glam rock and all things 'electric guitar'). I found Prince's sexuality the most appealing part of his music, so coupled with Let's Go Crazy he was an instant hero.

Anyway, I ramble. We asked our daughter if she wants to go the final night with us and she's said yes so I guess she liked it. Then again despite loving her rock/metal she has also been to see Martin Harley at our local folk club and also blues bands along the lines of Blues Brothers material.

She plays crap guitar though wink

i took my 7 yr old daughter on the 4 aug.
totally blew her sox off

as p was teasing about what to sing she whispered "ask him to say kiss", just as i was explaining he wouldnt sing it if he said it, the lights went out stage went red and kiss - fantastic moment thought she was going to explode!!!

she got a little upset when she realised people were invited on stage but not her!

i recently mentioned i wanted to go again, to which she said "i want to go for 21 nights"
bless if only

Hey guys - loved the thread about the orger who's wife went into labour while he was at a P gig. I saw Diamonds & Pearls Tour when I was 7 months pregnant - that was 15 years ago! I also remember at the Lovesexy Tour, a girl actually had her waters break during the gig and refused to be taken to hospital until it was over!

I saw an interview with P, before the Musicology tour, where he talked about how much he wanted to encourage his fans to bring their children to see his live shows. "Real musicians, playin' real music" is what he said.

I just wondered how many orgers had taken their children to see this tour and how old they are. I had the great pleasure of finally being able to take my daughter to see "THE GREATEST SHOWMAN/MUSICIAN ON EARTH" and I was just interested to know whether others had.

Hey I'm coming down on the 20th and my Daughter would love to come with me but can't as I've got tickets for the aftershow and she wouldn't get in as shes only 14. It's ashame as she would love it... maybe I could try make up to make her look older! but doubt it would work ha!

so who in this house knows how to quake? - we do!

On the 31st i took my 14yr old and 17yr old sons, they've always known i've been a mad Prince fan and i've always tried to steer them towards his music. Although they really like some of his stuff they were mostly into music like Artic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, that type of stuff. Both play in bands and both are really good guitarists in the making. The concerts they've been to are mainly festivals like Leeds and reading etc..so when i took them i was hoping they could be swayed.....when the concert finished both sons were blown away with Prince and my eldest said it was the best night of his life ever!!..He said that Prince Pi**ed all over any festival or concert he's ever been to before!!...I was so thrilled not only by his comments but at the thought that certainly in their lifetime they were able to witness this walking, living ledgend!....Since then they've been massive fans and have bought his entire back catalogue!!

I am so pleased that so many of you have taken the time to share your stories. I just love the fact that our kids "get him".

With Friday looming large I have already started getting withdrawal symptoms - imagine what I'll be like on Saturday sad! Having said that, I think Friday will be the best gig of the series - can't wait! cool

So who in this house knows how to quake? - we do!

Took my 9yr old son as he was clearly intrigued why I raved about the music and the man for his entire life! - loved it so much he begged to go again and was mesmerised...now he knows all the words and for me it is just amazing wanted him to discover the brilliance on his own and he did...wish I could have started at a concert that young and appreciated it...great pride watchin him 'push it up' !!

We took our 10year old daughter - she absolutely LOVED every moment of it!!!
She stood on the chair the WHOLE way through clapping, cheering and singing all the songs she knew....
Even gave the woman en front a bit of a shock as each time she turned round- there was a child singing to all the songs!!!

EXCELLENT!!!! If it had been ok to take her to the Aftershow I would have done that too (would have been a little concerned about the drinking though...)

I was gutted in 2002 when we went to the Celebration at Paisley Park that we didn't take her... there were so many other children there... But, Hey, she has seen him now and KNOWS that he is supreme.

Had to warn her that no other gig would be as good... and she agreed!!

My daughter is 4 next month and as all i have been talking about recently is PRINCE she asked when i was getting ready with my friend to go and see him for the second time if she could come to, so i told her that when she gets bigger and older (naming one of her friends that is 9 yrs old) I would take her.
She now keeps on asking me when she will get bigger, and if she eats all her vegetables will she get bigger. So i just said yes.
I hope i can use the vegetable thing for a while.
She is so sweet, when i play prince she says oh mummy i love this one, she has great taste. Can't wait to be able to take her, lets hope i don't have to wait to long pray beg

My friend and I are both twins mums (they are all nearly 3). We went on the first night and again on the 16th - have decided that we will take them when they are a bit older. She has been seeing P live since Lovesexy and I didn't start until 1993.

They all asked if they could come with us this time. And when I told my daughters that P was wearing trainers with red flashing lights in them like theirs, one of them wanted to know if his had pink rabbits on like hers! I told her I was too far away to see!

Had to check my 16yo daughter hadn't replied as she is registered on here.

Took her on the 18th as a reward for good exam results. She also came in 1990 as my ex was 5 months pregnant! Who says music in the womb doesn't affect you?
