I know the night busses run all night and you can use your underground rail card on them as well.

I know it's not supposed to be valid after mid-night but the bus driver didn't bother checking anyone's the night I jumped on there biggrin

My sis and I are both Sunny Leeds residents! We have managed however (through work) to blag a hotel room fairly nr. Kings Cross. You'll have a fair old time to get to Kings Cross from an aftershow! We caught the clipper back to Waterloo pier at 3:30 and then short walk to Trafalgar Square - where all the night buses congregate - there's certain to be a night bus from Trafalgar that will go to Kings X - just try not to get there too early - as you'll be sat in Kings X for a few hours and I can't imagine that that's a nice trip! I would invite you back to our hotel - but already my company only booked a room for me and I've snuck my sister in so sneaking in a 3rd might be pretty obvious (and they check - it's a pretty snooty hotel) - the man on the door couldn't believe it when we rocked up at 4:30am and tried to get in!! He looked pretty amazed - guess their 'usual' hotel guest doesn't party quite that late normally! We got to Trafalgar Square at 4:15am from the boat - as I checked Big Ben!

No need to book Clipper - just join q (turn left out of 02 and takes you straight there) They are every 30 minutes during the wee hours (00 and 30) until 5am - when the tube gets back into action again. The clipper is £4 single and gets you to Waterloo in about 40 minutes. Alternative is to sit around 02 until tube kicks in - but you've a way to get across London before 6am - so I'd do boat and get myself to Kings X that way.

Artefact

The tube won't run until 5 or 6ish on Monday morning. I'd get the clipper to London Bridge (the stop before Waterloo), then at London bridge station take a bus to Liverpool Street station (ten minutes max at that time). From Liverpool Street, you can take a 205 direct to Kings Cross.

Look at tfl.gov.uk for more help on planning the journey...

actually the easiest way to get back to Kings Cross that late is to take the 188 bus (which runs all night) to Russell Square and it is a 10 minute walk from there to Kings Cross. That's what I have been doing since Prince arrived. smile
