The Apollo on Thursday night was absolutely amazing but what really made it for me was Prince's genuine happiness at being there and being with such a great audience. I last saw Prince on the Gold Experience Tour at Wembley during the whole symbol phase. That too was a great show but nothing compared to One Nite Alone. Prince fans are among the most loyal in the world in my opinion, and we will stick by him through anything - to the point where nobody during that Gold Experience show called out the name, Prince - but there was something not quite right about that time. Thursday night, he was on top form, funny, funky and brilliant. He seems genuinely happy with his life and with his music right now and it certainly showed in his performance. I think Prince has finally come back home to us and I can't wait to see what he does next.
