Glad When It's Over?

As much as I am enjoying Prince being in London and being able to see him pretty much as much as I want, in a way I'll be glad when it's all over and I can get some normality back into my life. It seems like for the last month or so my whole life has revolved around Prince.Org, Ticketmaster, and the 02. I am on here and Ticketmaster morning, noon and night. I've hardly slept because of the excitement of the concerts and my work has suffered big time as a result of me spending what feels like 24/7 in front of my pc (not doing what I should be doing!)

I've forgotten what my life was like before Prince arrived here for the 02 gigs. I'm not saying for one minute that I want it to be over - far from it - I've had a ball - but I do feel a bit possessed! Anybody else feel like that?

Oh I'm completely possessed! I forgot about a family do and booked a ticket to see P tomorrow night, leading to much family nagging. It's taken over my life. But believe me, when all this is over you'll be sorry, not happy to get back to normality. 21 shows in London is the chance of a lifetime. On Sept 22 you won't say 'I wish I'd been to less gigs!'. You'll only be sorry you didn't go to them all.

Big time! I know exactly what you mean. Also my social skills have been destroyed in that any conversation that is not about Prince is one I do not want to have - and I cannot guage the lack of interest in people when I talk about the last show I went to for hours on end.

It's been absolutely amazing - but like a high adrenalin ride which needs to end at some point so life can carry on haha
i ain't looking for a 1 night stand...
i don't really wanna be your man...

I'm definately affected - my boss has been really patient but I'm thinking of changing my job and going out temping!!!! Talk about life changing - and I think my hubby thinks I don't love him any more (I do)!!! Funny you should say possessed because that is exactly what I said to my boss this morning when she said I looked as if I was in a trance eek

I am with you 100%. I was like a crazy man at 9.30 this morning trying to get 21/9 tickets. I was twitching, chewing my pen and punching in verification numbers like my life depended on it. Still got sweet FA! Ticketmaster is bloody homepage for pity's sake, this cannot be healthy.

I am really looking forward to it being over so I can get some bloody work done! Have been putting off actual work now and doing things at last minute - and it's really starting to show. I teach at univ. and the bloody students get back off hols any day now - and I haven't bothered yet to work out what I'm teaching them! I have a timetable here somewhere.... priorities priorities! If Prince could just wrap it all up and lay low for a while, give us all time to recover, earn some money to patch up the gaping holes in our wallets, actually talk to our spouses/ friends without thinking the whole time about how Prince might fit into the conversation (or worse as I have been doing now - just switching off as soon as people start talking about something else). I went to training session other day - and couldn't leave until EVERYONE had known about where I'd been the night before - one of the trainers said Purple Rain was his favourite song and his partner turned to him and said he'd never heard of it and had never heard a Prince song in his life. He turned around and asked us to start singing Purple Rain for him... and for a moment - I was just about to, when realised that everyone else was just looking at me like I was a lunatic. I can't sing - a lot of very senior people were there who could impact upon my career, and there I was about to start up Purple Rain so I could prove to him that he MUST have heard it! I have seriously lost it people.... Roll on Summer of 2008 - the re-run! He must make this an annual event surely???? lol lol
If anybody asks you, I belong to Prince....

If it's going to be an annual event - think we should have notice now so we can all be ready for it - especially when it comes to getting tickets confused

I'm the same - every day I resolve not check the org/TM and actually do some work, and every day I fail miserably, and end up feeling rather disapointed in myself. I think I could get on with the next couple of weeks and arrive at the 22nd contented and happy if only I had my tix for 21st. I have somehow managed to convince myself that I have to be at the gig...when in fact 4 is a pretty reasonable tally. I'll go to the gig tomorrow and have a great time, no doubt, but won't be able to rest until the gigs are over and I am at the last one!

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

After Prince being here in Vegas for a year,I could still get excited if he came back tomorrow. It was exciting, just to know he was in the area every weekend, whether I was in the Rio,seeing the show, out and about town or sitting at home.Send him back here.We would be glad to have him back!!

Oh no - we're keeping him here until the 21st at least! Until then all of our "real" lives are on hold. We're loving having him here - it's great - but as he hasn't been here for a while and the fact that he's here for two months - it's so intense and we've all become obsessed!
