Where were we all last night then? I was standing about two from the metal handrail thing that goes around the higher bit of the floor. I was to the right of the stage and slightly to the left of the steps down. I might try the lower bit for the next aftershows
Boy am I glad I chose stannding. You just can't beat the atmosphere. smile

I was near the rail thing but just left of center, got a bit peeved with people constantly pushing past but that might b an age thing eek Other than that I had a wicked time. My 1st a/show 2, awesome highfive

Luckily I didn't have the "pushing past" problem. I'd agree though, it can be annoying.

My feet were sticky too. Urghh!!! At the beginning the staff had tissues and were wiping it all up. Not really practical later on I suppose.
Like you, I'm going for lower floor next time (12th)

Just got back and I wanted to say I really enjoyed it. I think Prince came on about 12:30amish and it all wasn't fully finished until 3am. I stood at the back and could see really well. Plenty of room to dance and jump. biggrin
Next one is the 12th. I'm sure Prince said they were now going to do every night there's an aftershow so I might possibly stick in one more aftershow before the final one on thr 21st.

What tickets could I best buy for me and my friend to attend 16/9's aftershow? King Row or Upstairs? Which tickets are including waitress support - and what is the cost of drinks?

Of course we want to dance as much as possible but I have been diagnosed with a chronic disease and might needto sit every now and then. Thanks for helping me out here!
I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

last nite was definately one of the best aftershows, it was amazing. he screwed up a bit during what is hip and his plectrum came flying towards me, so thats now in my collection. i also got a lot of attention from marva and shelby and the mic passed to me a lot more than normal, so excuse my voice!

things are just getting even hotter and hotter - roll on wednesday!

Normal seating is £25. King's row is £75. I think you only get waitress support with King's Row (is that right?).
Don't know how much the drinks are I'm afraid
As regards sittiing, if you're downstairs there's always the option of the floor at the back (there were a number of people sitting down before Prince came on yesterday - I was one of them). However, I guess that may not be pratical for you.

One of the many Hightlights was "All The Critics Love U In London". Was so different! & the fact that I don't recall hearing him ever playing the track in tour before makes that night feel even more special. The "turnaround" was fantastic!

dancing jig What an awesome night! One of the highlights of the main show for me was "all along the watchtower/best of me" and "all the critics" from the aftershow! cool So many good points from the evening and a pleasure to be there with so many cool people enjoying themselves! cool I noticed Prince acknowledge a couple in the balcony seating and then realised who they must have been "amy and hubby" which was good to see! smile Nice to see you djenerate. I took my mum who has "the smiths" and "the beatles" as past gigs to meadowbank stadium in edinburgh to see prince in 1993 and she enjoyed it! biggrin For the aftershow my first ever!!!! i found it so relaxing and then snuck in at the right hand side of the stage where there was hardly anybody and got a really good view of prince (loved the tangerine guitar wow!),shelby and marva as well as one of the twinz? sorry was it nandy or maya cool There was a sofa at the side of the stage where i noticed some of the band chilled out enjoying performances when not on stage themselves. The indigo2 is a great intimate venue i have to say! smile
Where have all the raspberry women gone?

Last night's aftershow could probably go down as one of the best nights of my life!!!
The band have to be the best musicians around at this time and obviously there's no need to describe how fantastic Prince was last night.

Marva also did a beautiful version of Sweet Thing. Hadn't paid much attention to her before but she was amazing singing that.

I've had 4 hours sleep which I'm not sure counts as I was just singing prince in my head the whole time and now I've got home I don't want to go to bed in case I forget how amazing it was.

Roll on next Sunday and see if it can top that, not sure it can!
I love you Baby, you know the rest...

Yep one of the best nights of my life - I feel so privileged!! The vibe was like an intimate jazz club crossed with somebody's lounge for much of the show.

I was on the upstairs balcony on the left, just behind the special section. From there, I thought he said 'I don't make records, I make music' but if those who were closer know different...

God, he is so special - just wish the phone hadn't rung at 9.00am(!) I just don't feel tired though, when I think of what a night we had!

He has to be the natural successor to James Brown and Hendrix, except for his wonderful ballads too!!
....Have had my + today!

I made the decision not to try for the aftershow, having been to the concert. Something stupid like having work in the morning...

From the minute I got into bed, I couldn't sleep. I dinally nodded off some time after 2.45 and before 3.

How spooky!! I must be channelling the Purple One's timeclock!

Now, having had a pretty good strike rate of the aftershows and witnessing nearly all of his performances so far, I am well and truly gutted to have missed last nights.

Here's hoping somebody got a digital memory of it...

Too many covers for you though, Chris razz wink lol

The skit about releasing a single was brilliant - spoken over the funkiest licks that just get kept getting harder, phatter and funkier (he'd do a rant, then say, "Wait a minute" and just work the groove in to another gear and then carry on with his musings). Part of it was, "People say to me, "Prince, you don't sell as many records any more" - I just say, well, I never sold records anyway, I made em!". And then went on to say "You gotta chase that money down, eh? I don't even make records - I make music!" At the beginning, when talking about the "cat who'd asked me to release a single", he was saying "Single? What's that? Do they still do those? I though it was all digital downloads - I think I'm too old for that! I have a computer - its broke though. Ain't nothing on it - I tried looking, but it didn't have THIS on it" and just tears the funk up further - it was stunning.

Thank you for this. I love it when Prince is in that kind of form.

So badly would love to have been there.

I was there for the 28th which was stunning, but this sound slike it could have been it's equal. i know we shouldnt compare these things.

Ok, what show should i get tickets for. Already got my 21st ones smile
"London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"

"YEAH!!!"

"Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

I second that! Best night of my life - but then I said that I think on 14th August - really not sure that anything can compare to that aftershow - my first ever - now I want to go to them all the time! Sleep is a rather low priority (though I couldn't stop fantasising about bed during some of the solos when Prince was having a break - but soon snapped out of it when he came back doing 'Peach' - bloody hell - who could not go mental at that?) Too many highlights to even list them - so many amazing bits - Chelsea Rodgers blew me away - as did 1999, Controversy, etc. etc.! Sorry lads - but the ladies last night were in a class of their own (except those daft Twinz - save us please!) CC, Shelby, Marva - where does Prince find these gems?? Why aren't they superstars in their own right??? Just too awesome. Really not sure can concentrate at all on 'real life' now, esp. as have to go through it all again next Sunday! I kind of hope it isn't as full on as last Sunday - not sure my body can take it all - still emotional from Sunday - had good cry on train home and still welling up reading all the posts today! Must have cup of tea and try and do some work! wink
If anybody asks you, I belong to Prince....
