I'm (currently) going to all 21 main concerts, plus all 21 aftershows.
This is a once in a lifetime chance...
Me Nuts?? - I guess I could stay at home and watch tv instead of traveling 45 minutes up the road and having a brilliant night out (again)...

I've seen Prince twice in Dublin and was over in London on the 11th and he cancelled the aftershow. I was devastated but being a true fan I am coming back for more on thursday (13th) Does anyone know if he cancelled any more aftershows? I dont think my heart cud take it if he did it again!

My friends think I'm weird for going a 3rd time to see Prince.

Is anyone else getting this reaction from non-Prince fans?

They can't understand it at all.

lol This is why i am so glad i found this site! Most of my family think i am absoultley barmy and r on verge of recommendin a restrainin order 2 keep me away from the man (especially my husband) i never knew he was jealous type! They will never understand that prince and his music has been part of my life for past 20+ years - my daughter was raised on his music and she is so gifted musically! I to have been 3 times but live in north and due to dates of next concerts cannot attend (without bein sacked or divorced!) - still tryin for those final night tickets though! how about u?

Exactly the same question I get asked. Then when I see them with the smug look on their non-Prince fan faces as they ask "well did you hear any different songs this time?".
They should learn not to ask as I then torture them by going through the setlist while their eyes glaze over, in your face people for missing out on the best live performer around.

Not only will I struggle to come to terms with the summer of Prince being over on the 22nd but by the looks of things I'll have no friends left either! Oh well at least I'll have Prince memories to keep me company in the nuthouse.

hahahahah, maybe i will B in that nuthouse as well, looking very likely if things continue like this.....

Re the upset Dad - he's kind of got a point. He is only trying to get you to respect yourself - it's coming from a good place. Don't live your live vicariously through a stranger.

On the other hand, if you've going to choose an idol, it might as well be one that is as talented as Prince.

I've been getting that same sarcastic comment too... and this also:

I don't really understand the 'why' question.

blacksweat said:

When they ask you "why?", that gets me. Err, because the man is a genius maybe and because I can.

Do these people play a CD once and then throw it away? Lots of people go clubbing (to the same club) every weekend, and many more go the (same) pub many times each week. Going to see your favourite musician a few times (well ok - 20ish times including aftershows) in a 7 week peoiod seems to freak them out!! I don't understand!! confused

To be honest, I think a lot of it is down to some type of jealousy - not because they want to see Prince, but because they are jealous that I'm having the time of my life, and at my age I should be sat in front of the TV in my slippers by 7.30pm, and in bed strictly by 10.30!!

The 'Summer that Changed Everything' 2007 memories will be with me forever - I'm so lucky to be able to go this many times, it's priceless.

I know I tread a fine line of madness but its all good - its what makes us creative! I can't stop singing Prince songs - if anyone noticed my post earlier saying I was devastated when Prince cancelled the aftershow for the 11th of Aug - I was there on there on thursday night/friday morning and all the sadness and upset where wiped away by the amazing purple pixi - man I lOVE him!!!! And yeah all my friends (other than the ones who came back with me) thought I was mad for going back over to London again to see him after being so so upset but I knew it was meant to be - ya gotta take the rough with the smooth - the bad with the good. I dunno if I wuda got such a higher level if I hadn't been so low...i cant get off this org talking about either - it keeps the memory stronger. does anyone know will Prince be releasing some sort of DVD of the concerts? that would be superb

28th of August was my first Prince concert and it really made an impact on me.. i just wanted to see him another time while he's still here. sad

Well said, that man! I have friends who do exactly that and now I know what to say! People find it hard to deal with PASSION, especially in someone else. Put it down to petty envy but ignore the haters and live for your heart people.
